If you enjoy solving problems under time pressure and improving processes, you will thrive here.As a Trade Support Associate in Local Markets Rates Trading Middle Office, you provide first-line support to the trading desk by ensuring accurate trade capture, effective lifecycle management, and clear risk and profit and loss reporting. You work with us to resolve issues quickly, partner across control functions, and maintain a strong control environment that protects clients and the firm. You will contribute to continuous improvement through disciplined execution, root-cause analysis, and participation in change initiatives.Job responsibilitiesCapture trades accurately in the risk management system and ensure timely completion of required trade detailsVerify new transactions against term sheets, sales recap information, and broker confirmationsMonitor lifecycle events and ensure timely processing of key events such as rate fixings and resetsReview confirmation documentation and resolve discrepancies versus internal bookingsInvestigate profit and loss and risk questions from the front office and drive issues to closureProduce daily and ad hoc risk and exposure reports for control and oversight partnersRun scenario analyses and “what-if” assessments to support trading decisions and risk understandingPartner with settlements, collateral, finance, and other control groups to ensure smooth downstream processingEnsure adherence to applicable regulatory and internal control requirements for reportable tradesTest changes to models, analytics, and booking workflows and document impacts for stakeholdersImprove processes through root-cause analysis, standardization, and automation ideasRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsDemonstrate working knowledge of interest rate derivatives and trade lifecycle concepts (for example, interest rate swaps, forward rate agreements, cross-currency swaps, total return swaps)Apply understanding of market risk concepts and sensitivities used in rates trading (for example, delta, gamma, vega, theta)Explain key drivers of trading profit and loss and reconcile differences with supporting evidenceExecute strong control discipline, including attention to detail and follow-through on exceptionsCommunicate clearly with trading, risk, finance, and operations partners in a time-sensitive environmentSolve problems using structured investigation, prioritization, and escalation when neededOperate effectively in a high-volume environment with multiple deadlines and competing prioritiesUse spreadsheet tools to analyze data and produce clear, accurate reporting outputsCollaborate well within a team environment and contribute to shared outcomesDemonstrate sound judgment and accountability when managing operational, market, and reputational risksPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsSupport regulatory reporting and control requirements for derivatives (for example, European Market Infrastructure Regulation, Dodd-Frank reporting, clearing obligations)Work with risk management and trade reporting platforms in a middle office or trade support environmentPartner with quantitative and model governance teams to test model upgrades and assess impactsBuild automation or workflow improvements using tools such as Python or data preparation platformsContribute to tactical and strategic projects that simplify controls, reduce breaks, or improve timelinessDemonstrate experience producing management-ready risk and exposure reporting for senior stakeholdersDevelop broad stakeholder networks and influence across trading and control functionsJ.P.
