    Internal Sales Executive (Outbound Focus) Location: Colchester, UK Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary £27000 + up to £2K commission About Us We are a leading supplier to plumbing merchants across the UK, known for delivering high-quality products and reliable, customer-focused service. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a driven and commercially minded Internal Sales Executive to join our fast-paced sales team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys outbound sales activity, relationship management, and identifying new opportunities within existing and lapsed accounts. The Role As an Internal Sales Executive, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue through proactive outbound sales calls, while also handling inbound enquiries and supporting the External Sales team. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, maximising account value, and ensuring a smooth end-to-end sales process. This is a target-driven role within a busy B2B sales environment, requiring focus, resilience, and strong commercial awareness. Key Responsibilities • Make proactive outbound sales calls to existing, lapsed, and prospective plumbing merchant customers, • Identify and develop new sales opportunities through upselling and cross-selling, • Manage inbound sales enquiries via phone and email, providing quotations and product advice, • Process and manage customer orders accurately using CRM and ERP systems, • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, • Support the External Sales team by following up leads and managing allocated accounts, • Monitor back orders and coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery, • Resolve customer queries, delivery issues, and complaints professionally and efficiently, • Maintain accurate customer and sales records, • Proven experience in internal sales, outbound sales, telesales, or B2B sales support, • Confident and professional telephone manner with a strong focus on outbound calling, • Sales-driven mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities, • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced sales environment, • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), • Experience using CRM and/or ERP systems is highly desirable, • Competitive salary with commission structure, • Ongoing training and career development opportunities, • Supportive and friendly working environment, • £25 per month contribution towards a gym membership, • Your birthday off, • 23 days holiday (with 3–4 days allocated for the Christmas–New Year shutdown), • Early finish at 4pm every Friday

Duties Fabricate and assemble bespoke joinery components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment Install carpentry structures such as frameworks, roofing, flooring, and partition walls on-site Perform precise measurements and cutting to ensure accurate fitting of components Assist with construction painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical tasks, and roofing as required Conduct heavy lifting of materials safely in accordance with health and safety regulations Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards at all times Read technical drawings and specifications to execute projects accurately Requirements Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, or related construction trades Proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and installation processes Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders) Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing, electrical systems is desirable but not essential Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not mandatory Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks over extended periods This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality projects.
