1. Role • Responsible for the day to day operation of the machines, working under the direction of the Laundry Manager., • Operates the wash, dry and finishing equipment to approved recipes in order to achieve the required wash effect, shade, hand feel and quality standards., • Responsible for the routine maintenance of the equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, and for the diagnosis and resolution of faults that arise during production., • Ensures that production runs safely, efficiently and to schedule, with minimum rejection and reprocessing., • Supports the wider team as required. LaundRe is a small business and the role is varied by nature. 2. Responsibilities & Authorities • Load and unload the washing machines, dryers and finishing equipment in accordance with approved recipes, production plans, garment specifications and machine capacity., • Execute denim finishing processes including desizing, enzyme wash, ozone, nebulising application, tinting, softening and neutralisation, together with any other treatments required., • Follow approved recipes accurately, including chemical quantities, temperature, time, liquor ratio, pH and loading standards, in order to achieve consistent results., • Monitor production throughout the day and ensure that shade, wash effect, hand feel, softness, shrinkage and appearance remain consistent with the approved standard and sample. Identify and report process deviations before they result in rejected work., • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on all equipment, including filters, belts, seals, hoses, drains and pumps, and maintain accurate records of the work completed., • Diagnose faults, carry out first line repairs, and escalate to the Laundry Manager or an external engineer where the fault falls outside the scope of the role., • Handle, decant, label and store all chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH requirements and LaundRe’s health and safety procedures., • Maintain accurate production records, including recipes run, batch cards, weights, chemical usage and machine hours., • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area at all times, and report any hazard, defect or near miss to the Laundry Manager without delay., • Support sample and bulk shade matching, troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimise rejection and reprocessing., • Assist with other areas of the operation as required, including laser, finishing, packing, and goods inwards and outwards., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the process, in particular the reduction of water, energy, chemical consumption and rework. 3. Person Specification Experience • Hands on experience in a laundry beneficial but not necessary., • Mechanically minded, with the confidence to carry out routine maintenance and first line repairs., • Accurate and methodical, with the discipline to follow a recipe precisely and an understanding of why the detail matters., • A good eye for shade and appearance., • A strong commitment to health and safety, and to the quality of the product delivered., • Reliable, positive and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn new skills and to work as part of a small, collaborative team., • Plumbing or electrical skills a benefit but not essential. Qualifications No formal qualifications are required. Positive attitude, aptitude and a willingness to learn matter more to us.
