Duties Prepare and cook a variety of meals suitable for children, adhering to dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines Assist in planning weekly menus in collaboration with nursery management Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations Serve meals to children in a friendly and professional manner Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed Follow allergy protocols and ensure all food served is safe for children with specific dietary needs Support the overall organisation of meal times to promote a positive dining experience for children Skills Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or nursery environment Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to prepare nutritious meals efficiently and safely Experience working in a kitchen setting, with an understanding of meal preparation processes Good organisational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with nursery staff and engage positively with children Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Previous experience in serving food in a childcare or restaurant setting is desirable but not essential This role offers an engaging environment where your culinary skills can directly impact the health and happiness of young children.
