American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Clinic Ambulatory Care for a travel nursing job in Hempstead, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Ambulatory Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Pediatric Ambulatory Care clinic setting serving a high-volume Spanish-speaking patient population, • Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults, • Common diagnoses include well-child visits, asthma, viruses, gastroenteritis, developmental delay/autism, and obesity, • Scheduled shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM (3x12-hour days); Saturday shifts may be required if full-time staff call out, • Epic EMR is required for this position, • Special procedures include nasopharyngeal specimen collection, • Support services on unit include interpretation services, phlebotomy, respiratory services, social services, and transportation, • Block scheduling type, • Responsibilities include telephone triage, vaccine administration, specimen collection, patient teaching, medication reconciliation, and vital signs assessment, • Candidate must be comfortable with immunization and bronchodilator administration, including intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, • Gray scrubs are required, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer; no RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment, • Nurses who previously worked at this NYU facility as permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler, • Parking is provided at no cost in an employee garage upon badge pickup; street parking is also available\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NY RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of RN experience, with some pediatric experience from an ER, inpatient, or outpatient pediatric setting, • Current BLS certification required, • Asthma Educator Certification and Breastfeeding Counselor certification preferred, • Epic EMR experience required, • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered, • COVID vaccination required — no exceptions, • Required skills: pediatric dosage calculations, telephone triage, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, seizure disorder management, hyperbilirubinemia management, breastfeeding support/breast milk handling, infection prevention, wound assessment/care, • Preferred skills: IV therapy and phlebotomy, venipuncture, immunization administration, specimen collection, • Familiarity with vaccine schedules and telephone triage required, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, • Two managerial references required (Charge RN references are not acceptable), • SSN and DOB required for consideration, • Hard copy of RN license required, • Copy of certifications required\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
