This job reports to the Director of Social Media, Health, Culture, and Events department of PPFA. Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The core responsibility of the Residential Aide (RA) includes the continued assurance of support and care to clients residing in the shelter. Under the general direction of the Shift Supervisor, with some latitude for independent action, the RA provides direct assistance, support and care to clients residing in the facility as well as supporting, assisting and enforcing facility rules. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Complete new resident Intake arrival packets, exits logs, daily occupancy forms., • Utilizing the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-in, Discharge Conditional Intake, • Review, Nightly Attendance Roaster Incident reports., • Receive food deliveries and confirm items received/receipts for accuracy by signing and dating form., • Report all inconsistencies with food deliveries to appropriate Shift Supervisor and Director of Program Operations., • Distribute meals to residents and dispose of expired food items as outlined by DHS’ Food Distribution Guidelines., • Monitor logs to ensure clients are signing the Daily Attendance Roster when entering and exiting the facility., • Provide clients access to rooms and assist in the facilitation and completion of room transfers/swaps., • Collect trash in office and dispose trash in designated areas., • Distribute DHS notices (i.e., 4002 notices, appointment slips, mail, etc.) to residents., • Adhere to DHS housekeeping mandates by cleaning office space, microwave, refrigerator, and bathroom at the end of every shift; always maintain a clean and neat office space., • Bag and tag client personal belongings where needed and report room cleaning and repair needs to Shift Supervisor., • Collaborate with on-site Shift Supervisor to ensure a safe environment for all staff and clients., • Conduct hourly rounds of the facility to ensure all room doors are secured, clients’ personal belongings are secured., • Conduct safety checks of clients staying in facility due to illness, mobility issues, etc., • Ensure clients are responsive during safety checks., • Immediately alert medical staff and immediate supervisor of clients found in distress., • Must be able to rotate shift at the discretion of the DPO to meet the needs of the program., • Conduct Operation unit inspections during the new Intake process., • Maintain all logs (Attendance, ACS, emergency contacts, sign in/ out logbook) and submit logs on the 1st of every month to Director of Operations., • On the1st of every month create a dead file of all the logs to be submitted for storage., • Adhere to the dress code policy for uniformed personnel and maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times., • Review with Shift Supervisor all paperwork and logs completed during previous shift before the end of tour., • Physically check all unoccupied rooms to determine status of readiness, repairs and cleanings., • Ensure all clean and ready units have clean linens and towels. Alert maintenance team of items needed., • Complete and submit all paperwork (daily occupancy, exit logs, meal census, NSR, new intake, curfew violations, incidents etc.)., • Serve breakfast 8:00am to 10:00am, lunch 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and dinner 6:00pm to 8:00pm., • Finalize Night Signature Roster (NSR) in CARES., • Ensure new logs for the month are in place., • Receive and log incoming meals usually at 6:00am, • Deliver mail on the 8:00am to 4:00pm shift., • Clock in where appropriate using the time clock system sign-in via the onsite logbook., • Must be available for overtime when business needs are required., • Physically check all unoccupied units to determine status (ready, repairs needed, needs cleaning)., • Required to work additional shifts to ensure coverage when staff is out of the office for various reasons. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED., • Must have and maintain a valid NYS security license., • Two years’ experience in Single Adult Shelters and/or Congregate Residential Services., • Experience working with families / homeless population., • Food Protection Certification and CPR/ First Aid required., • Must complete a satisfactory background investigation., • Excellent written and oral communication, and organizational skills., • Must have incredible initiative, the ability to work well under pressure, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete complex projects in a fast-paced environment., • Intermediate level of computer proficiency with proficiency in Word, Excel, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases. POSITION OVERVIEW South Bronx United seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the College and Career Success Program Director. The Director will manage a team of two colleagues and oversee programming for young adults aged 16-24, including college prep for high school seniors, the workforce development program, and college success supports for program alumni, and career success mentorship. The Director will provide substantial outreach, direct services, and data monitoring for college students, graduates, and out-of-school young adults. They will also work with the College Access Manager and Career Success Manager to ensure strong, outcome-based program delivery for high school seniors and workforce development program participants. South Bronx United has a track record of success in working with youth. 100% of the high school seniors in the past ten years have graduated high school, and 94% have gone on to attend college. This position will sustain and build upon this program success. RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee the college prep program and College Access Manager in supporting high school seniors through the college awareness, application, soccer recruitment, and enrollment processes in both classroom and individual settings. * Oversee the Workforce Development Program and Career Success Manager in helping young adults ages 16-24 build job skills, benefit from on-the-job training and paid employment, and pursue careers. * Support program alumni—primarily college students and out-of-school young adults—towards college degrees and careers through outreach, advisement, mentorship programming, engagement programs, and events. * Coordinate with program partners, employers, schools, colleges, and college soccer coaches in strengthening programming and opportunities for youth. * Collaborate with staff—including soccer program staff and academic staff—along with families and other stakeholders.
