Education Requirement: * Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Education, Psychology, or Social Work * At least 18.0 credit hours from an accredited college or university in the field of Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field preferred Experience Requirement: * Minimum of three (3) years experience in urban education, youth development or community organizing with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. * Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with youth & adolescents in New York City. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow, while maintaining a positive, patient and calm demeanor, and establishing a positive team spirit with staff, students, and entire school community. * Strong understanding of New York City and New York State education requirements in an urban setting. * Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both in person, virtually and over the phone, applying tact and discretion as situations demand * Must be able to articulate outcome requirements and provide the necessary and appropriate resources and support for school and New York Edge staff members to successfully deliver on objectives. * Knowledge of after-school programs, supervising staff, and program planning. * Ability to de-escalate potentially risky or difficult situations. * Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Work Environment & Physical Demands: * Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but is required to interact with the community at-large during events, outreach, and trips. * May be required to walk up and down stairs, lift or move objects/materials as needed. * Work hours will be consistent Monday through Friday with potential for some weekend or evening scheduled activities or events.
