Job DescriptionSalary: $60,000 - $65,000 SUMMARY The Southern Queens Parks Association is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as Program Director for the P.S. 35Q Nathaniel Woodhull School's COMPASS program. The Comprehensive Afterschool System of NYC (COMPASS) serves young people enrolled in grades K-12. SONYC, which stands forSchools Out NYC, is the COMPASS middle school model that serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Structured like clubs, the model offers youth choice in how they spend their time; provides rigorous instruction in sports, arts and youth leadership. NYC becomes the classroom through trips and opportunities for instruction beyond the traditional facilities. Programs are offered 3 hours each day, 5 days per week during the school year. Services are also offered during the summer months. This specific outreach operates under the SQPA umbrella through use of its facilities, programming and thought leaders. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES The Program Director will be responsible for the development of an appropriate program that ensures opportunities for physical, emotional, educational, creative and cognitive growth of the program participants. The Program Director is also responsible for the overall supervision of program staff. This position requires the demonstration of a high degree of interpersonal skills, proven resourcefulness and motivation in developing a full services program. Job DescriptionBuild the environments where safe surgeries begin Before a surgical light turns on or a sterilizer runs its first cycle, someone ensures clearances are right, utilities are in spec, and every bolt is tightened. As a Medical Equipment Installer with STERIS, that someone is you. A day in the life You arrive on site—often at a major hospital in Manhattan or a community facility on Long Island—meet with the customer, and coordinate timing with the Installation Project Manager. You confirm rough-in dimensions, utility locations, and pathway clearances through doorways, elevators, and corridors. You uncrate and assemble STERIS equipment, set or lift units into place, level and anchor, connect plumbing and electrical utilities, then test and verify operation. You capture service documentation electronically, wipe down surfaces, remove packing materials, and walk the client through the install—answering questions before you leave. Territory and travel • Primary coverage: NYC, Manhattan, most of Long Island, and Northern New Jersey as needed., • Frequent day trips using a company vehicle, plus periodic Monday–Friday trips with likely overnight stays., • Some weekend work may occur (not to exceed two weekends per month); hours flex based on customer schedules.
