Job Description The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is seeking Licensed Veterinary Technician in Surgery across to support our non-profit mission of delivering world-class care to our patients. Job Description Licensed Veterinary Technician working in Internal Medicine (IM) performing Dialysis must be able to perform at a high level of practice with minimal supervision. The role includes assisting internists with appointments, client communication, and collaborating with staff doctors to make daily assessments and procedures run smoothly and efficiently. The Internal Medicine & Dialysis LVT assists with dialysis catheter placement and urinary and scoping procedures. Job Description The Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology Service is critical to the lifesaving work we do at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, providing timely diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning of diseases in companion animals. As a Diagnostic Imaging technician, you'll operate our computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to obtain quality images for our radiologists and other board-certified specialists across the hospital. About the Position: As a Technician at First Student, your day-to-day work ensures our vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers. You'll complete both routine and advanced repairs, handle emergency service calls, and work under moderate supervision. You may also provide mentorship to entry-level technicians. Key Responsibilities: • Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles including:, • Brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions, • Electrical components, fluid systems, filters, belts, batteries, and hoses, • Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs), DOT inspections, and diagnostic troubleshooting, • Maintain detailed service records, complete accurate work orders, and track parts usage, • Support emergency roadside service calls when needed, • Clean vehicles and maintain the shop environment, • Safely move vehicles around the yard or between work areas, • Repair and maintain shop tools and equipment, • Other duties as assigned by management What You Bring to the Role: You might be a perfect fit if you: • Want a job that directly supports your community, • Have 3+ of experience working with diesel, gas, electric, or CNG vehicles, • Are comfortable using hand tools and diagnostics software, • Are a strong problem solver who thrives both independently and on a team, • Have a valid driver's license and are willing to obtain a CDL (we'll help with training!), • Have or are willing to build a personal mechanic tool set, • Are eager to grow your skills through ASE testing (we'll support you every step of the way!) Preferred Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED (preferred), • Vocational or technical training in vehicle repair (preferred), • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 3 months), • ASE Certifications (preferred, with requirement to begin ASE testing within 1 year), • Experience performing DOT inspections and vehicle safety assessments, • Military experience, prior fleet maintenance, or previous bus/large vehicle repair a plus Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: • Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt, grease, and various weather exposure, • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in crouched or prone positions beneath vehicles, • This is a safety-sensitive position and subject to DOT drug testing, including cannabis Get Your Career on the Road with First Student!
