Job DescriptionSalary: 16.5 Opening for September 2025-June 2026 Season Assistant Dance Teacher: Terrific Twos, Preschool & Combo (dancers ages 2-7) Dance Connection is seeking assistant teacher for its Terrific Twos (age 2), Preschool (ages 3-4) and Combo (ages 5-7) classes for its Bay Shore location. Our performing arts school has an emphasis on excellence and love for the art of dance with a large student base of dancers aged 2 to adult. Our Terrific Twos, Preschool, and Combo programs are unique and highly specialized and we take the education of these children very seriously. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to jump right in and learn the particulars of these programs to assist the main teacher in the class. Job DescriptionSalary: Starting at $23/hr DOE Opening for Summer 2025 Season & 2025-2026 Season Dance Teachers (all levels and styles) Dance Connection is seeking to expand its faculty for its classes for upcoming seasons. Our performing arts schools have an emphasis on excellence and love for the art of dance with a large student base of dancers aged 2 to adult. With locations in Islip and Bay Shore, we serve dancers throughout both Suffolk and Nassau counties. We pride ourselves on fostering a sense of teamwork among our teachers, operating with a professionally managed office and administrative staff, and offering many opportunities for growth to all the artists that work for us. Dance Connection is seeking teachers for the following styles: • Toddler & Preschool Classes, • Ballet, • Tap, • Jazz, • Hip Hop, • Pointe, • Contemporary/Lyrical, • Acro, • Technique & Enrichment Classes, • Performance Company & Competition Availability: For our Summer 2025 season, classes are scheduled to run between July 22-August 14. Possible class times include Monday thru Friday between 4:30 and 9:00pm. The 2025-2025 season will run September 2025 thru June 2026. Possible class times include Monday thru Friday between 4:00 and 10:00pm and Saturdays between 9:00am and 3:00pm. The Teacher's Assistant is responsible for supporting the classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school. *Positions available in Wyandanch, Hempstead, and Uniondale Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Assist in instructing and supervising children in classroom activities., • Continuously monitor children to ensure safety at all times, and report child abuse and neglect when necessary., • Participate in learning teams within the school community that maximize cohesion, collaboration and alignment with school initiatives, • Help to maintain a clean and organized learning environment, • Maintain a quality room arrangement in compliance with curriculum standards, • Provide opportunities and supervise activities in order for students to demonstrate individually and large groups the skills and talents developed in the instructional program., • As a parent advocate, along with assistance from the School Counselor resolve issues or concerns that are raised, • Inform parents about daily classroom routine and expectations, • Responsible for the safety and welfare of all students during admission, dismissal, lunch and physical education, • Interact with students, parents and colleagues in a professional, positive and inspiring manner, • Maintain classroom supply lists and inventory, • Other tasks as assigned by Administration Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s Degree required., • New York Teaching Assistant Certification required, • 1-2 years student teaching experience in a urban school setting, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to develop rubrics, examine data and metrics that will enhance student knowledge and promote performance of superior work products, • Knowledge of childhood development and demonstrated experience with executing planned lessons to meet the differential needs of each child Pay Transparency: The hourly range for this role is $18.00/hr. - $21.50/hr. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
