Job Description Collision Estimator Company: Emkay Enterprises, Inc. T/A Knoblock Auto Body Location: South River, NJ 08882 Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Hours: Approximately 45 hours/week Compensation: 60,000–90,000 per year, based on experience Anticipated Start Date: August 24, 2026 Reports To: Wendy, Manager & Mike, President About Knoblock Auto Body Emkay Enterprises, Inc. T/A Knoblock Auto Body is a family-owned auto body collision repair business that has proudly served customers for over 87 years. We are a fast-paced collision repair facility committed to quality repairs, excellent customer service, and strong relationships with our insurance partners. We are seeking an experienced Collision Estimator to join our team and help manage the estimating and repair process from initial vehicle inspection through completion. About the Role The Collision Estimator will be responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, preparing accurate repair estimates, documenting vehicle damage, coordinating with insurance companies and adjusters, ordering parts, and keeping customers informed throughout the repair process. The ideal candidate understands collision damage and vehicle parts, has experience working with insurance Direct Repair Programs (DRPs), and can confidently communicate with customers, insurance representatives, technicians, and vendors. You will work primarily with CCC ONE Shop Management and Mitchell Connect to prepare estimates and manage the repair process. Responsibilities Collision Estimating & Vehicle Documentation • Inspect vehicles and identify collision-related damage., • Write accurate and comprehensive repair estimates., • Take detailed photographs of vehicle damage and repair areas., • Record videos documenting vehicle damage and explain findings clearly., • Review damage findings with customers, insurance adjusters, and technicians., • Identify required parts, repairs, procedures, and materials., • Update estimates as additional damage is discovered during the repair process., • Ensure estimates are accurate, thorough, and properly documented. Insurance & DRP Coordination • Prepare estimates for insurance company DRP programs., • Work with Progressive using Mitchell Connect., • Work with Allstate, NJM, Farmers, GEICO, State Farm, Plymouth Rock, and other DRP/self-pay customers using CCC ONE., • Meet with insurance adjusters and coordinate supplemental damage when necessary., • Maintain positive and professional relationships with insurance companies and DRP partners., • Follow insurance and DRP procedures while advocating for accurate repair documentation., • Communicate repair findings and estimate changes with insurance representatives. Customer Communication & Service • Communicate professionally with customers throughout the repair process., • Provide regular updates regarding vehicle status, repair progress, delays, and changes., • Explain damage findings, repair requirements, and estimate details in a clear and understandable manner., • Respond promptly to customer questions and concerns., • Maintain a professional, customer-focused experience from drop-off through completion., • Follow up with customers proactively rather than waiting for them to call. Parts & Repair Coordination • Order required parts from approved vendors., • Verify parts availability and help prevent repair delays., • Coordinate with technicians regarding repair requirements and vehicle damage., • Monitor parts orders and follow up on outstanding items., • Work with the repair team to keep vehicles moving through the production process., • Schedule jobs and coordinate repair timelines. Shop Operations • Work collaboratively with technicians, management, customers, insurance adjusters, and vendors., • Manage multiple vehicles and priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Maintain accurate repair and insurance documentation., • Follow up on estimates, supplements, parts, approvals, and customer communications., • Support efficient workflow throughout the collision repair process. Qualifications Required • 3–5+ years of experience working in an auto body collision repair shop., • Strong collision estimating experience; 5–7 years of estimating experience is highly preferred., • Previous experience with CCC ONE Shop Management — required., • Working knowledge of Mitchell Connect., • Strong understanding of vehicle collision damage and automotive parts., • Ability to accurately assess damage and determine necessary repairs., • Experience working with insurance companies and DRP programs., • Strong customer service and communication skills., • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities., • Reliable and punctual., • Professional appearance and demeanor; professional attire is required., • High school diploma or automotive vocational school education. Preferred • I-CAR certification., • Experience working directly with Progressive, Allstate, NJM, Farmers, GEICO, State Farm, Plymouth Rock, or similar DRP programs., • Experience with both CCC ONE and Mitchell Connect., • Additional collision repair or automotive vocational training. We are willing to train the right candidate on software or processes where needed, particularly for a strong candidate with solid collision repair and estimating experience. Software & Systems The successful candidate should have experience with: • CCC ONE Shop Management, • Mitchell Connect, • Insurance DRP estimating systems, • Digital vehicle photography and video documentation Ideal Candidate The ideal Collision Estimator is a people person who combines strong technical collision knowledge with excellent customer service. What Success Looks Like: First 90 Days Within your first three months, you will: • Consistently write accurate, complete collision repair estimates using CCC ONE and Mitchell Connect while properly documenting vehicle damage., • Create thorough visual documentation by taking quality vehicle photos and videos and clearly explaining damage findings to customers, insurance representatives, and the repair team., • Own the customer communication process by providing proactive updates on repair status, delays, parts, supplements, and other changes so customers always know what is happening with their vehicle.
