Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Oncology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Primary Roles & Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Monitoring • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for oncology patients, • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and treatment responses, • Assess for complications related to cancer, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy, • Identify signs of infection, neutropenia, sepsis, or treatment toxicity, • Monitor laboratory values including CBC, ANC, platelets, and electrolytesChemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration, • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications safely, • Verify chemotherapy orders and dosing according to oncology protocols, • Maintain adherence to hazardous drug handling and safety standards, • Monitor patients for infusion reactions and adverse events, • Manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, and vascular access devices, • Ensure safe handling and disposal of chemotherapy agentsSymptom & Pain Management, • Manage cancer-related pain and treatment side effects, • Administer medications for nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and symptom control, • Monitor and treat complications such as mucositis, dehydration, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, • Provide palliative and supportive care interventions, • Assist with end-of-life and hospice-related care when appropriatePatient & Family Education, • Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and side effects, • Teach infection prevention and neutropenic precautions, • Provide discharge instructions and home care education, • Educate patients regarding chemotherapy safety precautions, • Offer emotional support and counseling resourcesCoordination of Care, • Collaborate with oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, radiation therapists, social workers, and case managers, • Coordinate diagnostic testing, treatment schedules, and follow-up care, • Advocate for patient needs and continuity of care, • Assist with clinical trials and research protocols when applicableDocumentation & Compliance, • Document assessments, treatments, medication administration, and patient responses accurately in EMR systems, • Maintain compliance with oncology safety standards and hospital policies, • Follow ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) guidelines and infection control procedures, • Weekly pay, • Medical benefits
