Job Description Job Title: Supervisor II Department: Direct Services, Youth Dept Hours: Full-time, occasional evening and weekend work required Reports To: Associate Director of Youth Services Dept Starting Wage: $30-$35 Job Summary: The Supervisor II of the Youth Services Department is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring strong team performance within the department. This role supervises frontline staff as well as other supervisors, coordinates workflow, and maintains quality standards while implementing agency policies and procedures. The Supervisor II provides leadership in program development, budget oversight, and data reporting, acting as a key link between upper management and employees. The position works closely with funders, prepares grant and program reports, and communicates progress and challenges to the Associate Director. In addition, the Supervisor II drives productivity, resolves operational issues, and fosters a positive and inclusive environment where youth, families, and staff can thrive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain and apply thorough knowledge of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, • Organize, implement, and monitor program activities in alignment with the scope of work, • Oversee and manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and accuracy, • Prepare, write, and submit all required reports in a timely and accurate manner, • Collect, maintain, and ensure accuracy of program service data and records, • Support accurate and timely data reporting for funders and stakeholders, • Ensure program and staff compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and training requirements, • Communicate regularly and effectively with all project staff, leadership, and partners, • Supervise, support, and coach interns, volunteers, and staff, including providing one-on-one reflective supervision and performance feedback, • Foster professional growth and development opportunities for staff, • Ensure staff align their work with the mission, vision, and values of the organization, • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and community partners to strengthen services and outcomes, • Organize and facilitate monthly meetings with partner agencies, • Represent the program at community outreach activities and events, • Attend programmatic meetings with funders as needed, • Work closely with the Associate Director and Director on continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, • Proactively identify and resolve operational or staffing issues to ensure effective program delivery, • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Perform other duties as assigned Education, Experience & Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred), • 3–5 years of experience in program management or coordination, with a focus on youth programs, youth services, or related fields within a nonprofit or community organization., • Experience managing program budgets, writing reports, and ensuring compliance with funder and grant requirements, • Bilingual, preferred but not required., • Proven leadership skills with experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers, • Maintain a valid California driver’s license., • Must have automobile and maintain automobile insurance., • Meet basic health and background check requirements and physical job standards., • COVID-19 vaccination highly encouraged but not required., • Annual TB test required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and organizational relationships., • Knowledge of scheduling and coordinating meetings., • Knowledge and/or experience working with homeless population, suicide impacted populations and case management., • Knowledge of best practices in youth development, trauma-informed care, and positive youth engagement, • Familiarity with youth safety practices, mandated reporting laws, and risk management procedures, • Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that meet organizational and funding goals, • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools to guide decision making., • Skilled in building strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders., • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with cultural sensitivity in working with diverse youth populations., • Ability to work independently and with little to no supervision., • Ability to plan and effectively manage complex, long-term projects., • Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet schedules and deadlines., • Ability to compose routine correspondence and reports., • Ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations., • Conforms with and supports organization’s quality assurance and improvement guidelines., • Supports and adheres to the values and mission statement established by the AVPH Board of Directors., • Experience of volunteer management and project planning methods, • Experience working with culturally diverse communities and volunteers with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate., • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team., • Excellent written/oral communication skills., • Comfortable with technology, including editing software, cameras, social media, projectors, and audio equipment., • Must demonstrate excellent skills in Microsoft Office Software., • Attention to detail and accurate. Working Conditions: • Work in flexible settings, hybrid model at the discretion of Associate Director., • Working with overburdened, often high-risk families of low economic and varied cultural backgrounds, living in high-risk areas., • Able to maintain HIPAA requirements with confidential information, safely and discreetly, as required, when working in various settings, • This position may require lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs., stooping, bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and/or walking.
