Job DescriptionPrimary Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative - 1st Shift Alternate/Related Job Titles: • Certified Phlebotomy Technician, • Laboratory Patient Services Specialist, • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: Approximately 3 months, • Start: As Soon As Possible, • Pay Rate: $20 – $21.79 per hour, • Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Eastern Time, Monday–Friday)Job SummaryThe Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the organization to patients visiting the service center for laboratory testing. The PSR II is responsible for drawing and processing quality blood samples while maintaining patient safety, accuracy, and professionalism. This position combines clinical skill with customer service excellence and supports multiple collection sites as needed.Key Responsibilities, • Perform routine and advanced phlebotomy procedures, ensuring patient comfort and accurate specimen collection., • Label, accession, and process specimens in accordance with company and CLIA/CAP standards., • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment., • Verify patient identity and ensure all labeling is completed in the patient’s presence., • Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collections while adhering to established safety procedures., • Provide exceptional patient care and uphold confidentiality standards., • Support multiple service locations or doctor’s offices as assigned., • Perform documentation, reporting, and quality control checks as required.Required Experience, • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections., • Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred., • Prior experience in a customer-facing or healthcare environment strongly preferred., • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).Required Skills, • Phlebotomy and specimen handling expertise, • Accuracy, attention to detail, and organization, • Strong interpersonal and patient service skillsPreferred Skills, • Medical assistant or paramedic training, • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred elsewhere), • Ability to manage high-volume tasks and multiple prioritiesAdditional Skills, • Data entry and administrative accuracy, • Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards, • Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic environmentsEducation, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Medical or paramedic training preferred, • Phlebotomy certification preferredBenefits, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans, • 401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientA leading provider of diagnostic information services, dedicated to empowering healthier lives through innovation, accuracy, and accessibility in laboratory testing.
