Job Description Our client, a leading healthcare organization in Nassau County, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of the accounting function. This individual will manage a small team, lead the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, hands-on leadership experience, and proficiency with Workday. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and payroll * Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals * Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes * Prepare and review internal and external financial statements * Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls * Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making * Coordinate with auditors and manage annual audit process * Drive process improvements and efficiencies across the accounting function * Utilize Workday ERP for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) * 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a management or controllership capacity * Prior experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred * Proficiency with Workday is required * Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and leadership abilities
