Responsibilities: • Uses hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. • Maintains machines proactively to support plant / department goals for productivity, waste, quality, and safety., • Assures guarding, facilities and equipment are in good working order., • Sets up and operates machine and performs necessary duties to meet manufacturing and quality targets at a minimum after repairs are completed., • Detects, records and reports defective equipment to the Maintenance Manager/Shift Supervisor., • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations., • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per instruction., • May provide support by running production machines as necessary to ensure continuous operation and meet production schedules., • The above responsibilities are intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this position. Background: Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Material Handler will be responsible for placing completed material onto a pallet, building, and wrapping the pallets for shipment. The candidate is responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.
