Job Description Position Overview The Director of Strategy & Corporate Development will be responsible for driving strategic organic and inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions, partnership opportunities, and long-term business planning, as well as shaping the overall strategic direction and operational priorities. The Director will drive growth across the customer base. As a hands-on leader, the Director will develop and refine Hudson’s long-term strategic plan and act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing as well as other senior leaders. This individual will serve as a thought leader within the company, advocating for strategic thinking and innovation. They will seek opportunities to propose and implement new ideas, processes, and programs. The Director will look for ways to enhance customer experience through strategic decisions, whether via product enhancements, service offerings, mergers & acquisitions, or new lines of business or services. The Director’s scope blends high-stakes financial analysis, cross-functional project leadership, and the responsibility to translate strategic vision into actionable results for the company. The individual will create and utilize dashboards to link strategic actions with measured outcomes, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams and reporting lines. They will also implement metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and strategy execution, as well as regularly review performance against strategic objectives and adjust plans as necessary. Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Planning Leadership • In collaboration with the SVP of Sales and Marketing and executive leadership, lead the development of long-term strategic plans to deliver sustained profitable growth and drive strategic revenue growth projects and key business processes aligned with the business roadmap., • Work with business leaders to develop short-term objectives and long-term goals, ensuring they support the overall corporate vision., • Lead the development of long-term business strategies and business cases for investment decisions., • Develop and implement corporate development strategies that align with business objectives targeting strategic growth through activities such as mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and long-term business planning., • Identify new product development (NPD) programs, business case, and value proposition in targeted growth markets., • Identify, evaluate, and participate in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships that align with company priorities., • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential targets by scouting industry trends, competitors, and underserved markets., • Participate in deal execution, including negotiation, due diligence, transaction structuring, financial modeling, and integration planning., • Develop financial models, valuation analyses, and conduct thorough due diligence to support investment decisions., • Develop advanced financial models to assess acquisition prospects, partnership proposals, and strategic investments., • Analyze the financial impact of deals — cash flow forecasts, synergy estimates, margin impacts, and shareholder value creation., • Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to senior management and key stakeholders using data-driven insights., • Conduct market research, monitor, and analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market trends and shifts to identify strategic opportunities and threats., • Provide insights into new business model innovation that can give Hudson Technologies a competitive edge., • Collaborate closely with the SVP Sales and Marketing, and functional leaders in operations, finance, legal, and HR to align strategic initiatives., • Coordinate quarterly and annual strategy sessions, reporting, and business reviews with senior leaders and stakeholders., • Design and present strategic insights and recommendations for business transformation and market expansion to the executive team and board, as well as external customers and partners., • Ensure clear companywide communication and engagement in strategy., • Strong financial acumen, analytical abilities, problem resolution, and decision-making skills., • Strong skills in financial modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, valuation, due diligence, business cases, and ROI analysis., • Negotiation skills, including structuring deal terms and leading contract negotiations., • Leadership and communication skills to manage teams, work cross-functionally, present to executives, facilitate decision-making at the executive level and with outside stakeholders, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including investment bankers and legal counsel., • Strong sense of personal accountability and drive. Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment., • Growth-minded strategist who is able to synthesize large amounts of information quickly., • A thought leader who can drive action; embodies and encourages intelligent creativity., • A bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, business, or STEM/engineering fields is required. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred., • 10+ years in corporate development, strategic planning, or related roles including staff roles for industrial products companies or consulting firms., • Experience developing and implementing corporate strategy, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic partnerships., • Strong understanding of GTM strategies and competitive product positioning., • Strong working knowledge of management strategies, financial accounting, marketing, supply chain, and operations., • Experience in mergers and acquisitions., • Proven track record in strategic planning, business analysis, and developing relationships with external stakeholders., • Project management skills leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects like acquisitions and integrations., • Business development skills, including identifying growth opportunities and creating partnerships aligned with corporate objectives., • Related industry knowledge or ability to learn and understand the industrial sector’s market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment., • Domestic travel as expected for a position of this nature but anticipated approximately 25%.
