Job Description Clinical Registered Dietitian Position - Part-time/Hybrid Company: RD Nutrition Consultants LLC Overview: RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is excited to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our team. This role allows flexibility and a balanced blend of in-person and remote work, ensuring our patients receive the best care while our team enjoys a work-life harmony. Facility Type: Skilled Nursing Schedule: 30 hours per week, 25% completed remotely via telehealth Compensation: $40.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience Travel Reimbursement: Paid additionally at the same hourly rate for time traveling to and from the facility + mileage reimbursement Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter, with more frequent reviews as needed for high-risk residents., • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans., • Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed, • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including those related to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health (DOH)., • Maintain appropriate documentation., • Monitor all residents for changes in weight weekly and/or monthly to identify potential changes in nutrition or hydration status., • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care services and resident outcomes as needed., • Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to maintain a safe and sanitary environment., • Review and approve menu on a semi-annual basis to ensure it meets USDA guidelines, • Perform other tasks as assigned and within scope of practice as needed. Experience & Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program., • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration., • Current state licensure/certification (if mandated by the state), • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred)., • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams., • Possesses the ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations, assess objectives, develop and implement and monitor effective plans for improvement., • Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions., • Familiarity with state survey processes and adhering to nutrition care regulations, • Competency in electronic charting systems About RD Nutrition Consultants, LLC: We are a nationally recognized Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Consulting firm. Your expertise will help empower individuals on their journey toward healthier lifestyles, fostering positive change and long-term recovery. 16-20 hours per week (flexible schedule with some virtual hours) Primary Responsibilities: · Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, including dietary habits, medical history, and lifestyle factors · Develop individualized nutrition care plans aligned with mental health treatment goals and medical conditions · Develop meal plans for those with limited income and/or accessing the JFS food pantry · Provide education on nutrition principles, weight management, and healthy eating habits to support mental wellness in a group setting · Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall treatment plans · Monitor patient progress through follow-up consultations and adjust care plans as needed for optimal outcomes · Document all assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems · Advise agency on billing best practices for nutritional services · Community outreach which may include developing presentations and outreach initiatives Skills · Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles applicable to mental health populations · Familiar with health coaching techniques to motivate behavioral change and weight loss goals · Involves client’s family/significant other in education as needed and appropriate. · Adapts and develops nutrition education materials and techniques to accomplish patient goals. · Seeks to participate in care coordination meetings. · Contributes to the nutrition education of allied health professionals in the agency Qualifications: · Bachelors Degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field · Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and provide annual verification • At least one year of nutritional counseling experience with individuals · State Dietary License as required by state · Understanding of the intersect between mental health and dietetics • Understanding of the State and Federal Regulations associated dietetics · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · Remains up to date on advances in nutrition and diet therapy through continuing education Company DescriptionJewish Family Service of Clifton-Passaic (JFS) is a fast growing mental health and social services agency, developing new programs and hiring additional staff.
