We provide the most comprehensive range of surgical and medical services for cardiac care in South Texas. Our facility houses: 6 cardiac catheterization labs, 3 cardiovascular surgery suites, Cardiac rehabilitation unit, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Description A3 is a 24-bed unit providing high-acuity care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients with various co-morbidities. We care for post-cardiac intervention patients (e.g., heart catheterizations, AAA stent repairs, TAVRs, EP ablations, pacemaker/ICD placements) and manage specialized devices like Impellas and IABPs, Artic Sun and Tablo XT. We also treat ventilator-dependent patients and those with conditions like hypertension, diabetes, GI bleeds, peripheral vascular disease and renal disease. The unit handles multiple infusions for blood pressure, cardiac issues, thrombolytics, sedation and paralytics, as well as post-surgical ICU care. Description 6NT is a 36 - private bed unit specializing in cardiac care for patients who have had open heart surgery. We see cardiovascular/thoracic patients that are post-CABG, heart caths, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and many other cardiothoracic surgical procedures. We also see general medical-surgical patients that may have a primary cardiac diagnosis or history with comorbidities that may need telemetry monitoring, as well as those patients needing critical cardiac drips. On 6NT, we train our staff to detect medical issues before they become a problem, so they can respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently. We have many opportunities for assessments, patient/family teaching, IVs, wound care, lab value analysis and medication administration/ management. Description The medical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital provides exceptional care for Ortho, Oncology, and Med/Surg patients. From a surgical standpoint, we care for all patients out of PACU (GI, ORTHO, SPINAL, etc.) with exception to any open hearts. We also admit medical ICU patients and on occasion will take overflow cardiac patients. The floor often has many bedside procedures; chest tube, bronchoscopy, and EGD, to name a few. We have great teamwork and a family atmosphere. Description 6NT is a 36 - private bed unit specializing in cardiac care for patients who have had open heart surgery. We see cardiovascular/thoracic patients that are post-CABG, heart caths, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and many other cardiothoracic surgical procedures. We also see general medical-surgical patients that may have a primary cardiac diagnosis or history with comorbidities that may need telemetry monitoring, as well as those patients needing critical cardiac drips. On 6NT, we train our staff to detect medical issues before they become a problem, so they can respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently.
