As they grow and mature, their individual needs change. Our assessments, health counseling, and selected treatments change to meet their new needs. Our children's physical and mental health as well as their strengths must be supported so they can reach their full potential. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Nurse will be responsible for providing best practice nursing care to our clients. Our clients are a mix of infants, toddlers, school age children and teens and are male and female. Nurses will work with birth families, foster parents, and other members of each child’s treatment team. Day shifts Monday - Friday. 8a - 4pm REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State, current CPR certification and completion of required courses in Child Abuse and Infection Control. Job Description Hope For Youth's Residential Services Department provides community based, trauma informed, youth and family driven care to adolescents and young adults in Nassau and Suffolk County. Serving youth from varying points of entry with the child welfare system, juvenile justice system, and runaway and homeless youth/young adults, the opportunities to alter the trajectory for youth in need are abundant. Youth are supported 24/7 by a team of multi-disciplinary professionals, paraprofessionals, and agency administration that consistently meets standards for accreditation and licensing regulations. Hope For Youth's Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services Program ("Diagnostic") provides respite, emergency and diagnostic services for up to 12 youth, co-ed, from ages 12-20. Youth are referred through Nassau and Suffolk Department of Social Services, Probation and the Crisis Bed Network. The Diagnostic Program Manager will oversee all case management services, aftercare services, prepare psychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations. The Program Manger provides direct supervision to Assistant Program Manager, Case Worker and Case Worker Assistant. The Program Manager is instrumental in maintaining the overall functions of the program with the assistance of the Assistant Program Manager. The position offers the opportunity for some remote work within agency policy, including but not only completion of new hire introductory period and good standing.
