Title: Staff Psychologist/Clinician - Alcohol and Other Drugs Department: Counseling Center Reports To: Director Counseling Services Position Type: Staff Position Summary: The Staff Psychologist/Clinician - Coordinator of Alcohol, Other Drug, and Addiction Services serves as the primary clinical provider for alcohol and other drug (AOD) assessment, treatment, and prevention services within the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (C-CAPS). This role combines clinical expertise with program coordination and leadership in addressing substance use and behavioral addictions on campus. The clinician is responsible for delivering culturally informed, responsive mental health services to students, with a specialized focus on substance use and addictive behaviors. In addition, the coordinator leads prevention, education and outreach efforts in collaboration with campus partners, promotes harm reduction strategies, and contributes to the development of policies that support student mental health and well-being. Beyond direct clinical care, this position plays a key role in community-level mental health programming and campus-wide wellness initiatives. The clinician also collaborates closely with university faculty, staff, and administrators to provide consultation and outreach that align with the mission of C-CAPS and the broader goals of the university. The Staff Psychologist/Clinician Coordinator of Alcohol, Other Drug, and Addiction Services may also provide clinical supervision to licensed mental health professionals within C-CAPS. This includes clinical oversight for staff who engage in direct student support and may encounter students in distress. The supervision is limited to clinical supervision and does not extend to programmatic or administrative responsibilities of other offices. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated expertise in the provision of mental health services to a diverse population and culturally responsive treatment, and experience in clinical and outreach services related to addictions with diverse client populations. Included in this is accompanying the client to their assigned unit and ensuring the unit is fit for a new admission. Reports to: SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR, FAMILY RECEPTION CENTER Location: 503 Fifth Avenue, 3rd floor, Brooklyn, NY 11215 Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt Salary: $50,000-$55,000/Year Major Duties: • Conduct assessments of children and families referred by the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), schools, other service providers, or those who come in voluntarily seeking services based on a strength-based model., • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to children and families including home visits and escorts to appointments as needed., • Maintain a regular caseload in accordance with the program’s policies and procedures., • Provide short-term crisis intervention and concrete services including advocacy, outreach, and referral for designated caseload, as well as emergencies., • Implement and integrate the principles and procedures of Solution Based Casework: assessment, family and individual level outcomes, action plans and documentation and celebration., • Actively participate in case consultation, continued SBC training and the SBC certification process., • Plan, coordinate, and implement groups and social activities for children, parents, and families., • Prepare and maintain FASP documentation, appropriate statistical reports, and casework and group work summaries as needed., • Maintain appropriate utilization of state and city databases, as well as agency databases., • Participate in appropriate program and external meetings and trainings., • Bachelor’s degree required (BSW preferred) and two years of direct experience in a social service setting preferred., • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred., • Must be able to work two evenings per week until 8:30 p.m., • Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills., • Tuition Assistance Program, • Generous paid time off (Including 5 Self-Care Days/Floating Holidays, 12 Sick Days, 15 Vacation Days, and 11 Holidays), • Healthcare Plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Care), • 403(b) Plan (GSS contributes 3% of your salary to your 403(b) plan after 3 years of service, with contributions increasing over time)

Job Description Title: Respite Worker This position is considered para-professional, non-exempt in nature, requiring specialized training to work with mentally and physically disabled individuals in residential living arrangements. The employee in this position is responsible for the security, safety, and wellbeing of the individuals living within their residence according to his/her specific needs and interests, with the purpose of increasing the quality of life for each person by promoting their respective level of independence. Examples of typical duties performed as a respite staff are assisting/teaching individual life skill activities, providing/accompanying individuals to recreational activities, and assisting/providing person grooming and hygiene, as appropriate, etc. Specific duties vary with each person served and are based on the abilities and needs of the individuals residing in the home. Respite staffs are responsible for ensuring that all their training requirements are met on an on-going basis, and that their employee physical examinations, and Mantoux tests are current. Respite staff is expected to maintain personal backgrounds free from criminal activity. Respite staffs report directly to the Respite Coordinator for all service related issues. The Respite Coordinator and Program Director jointly monitor the performance of Respite Staff through observation, various meetings, and direct input from individuals and family members. Examples of Essential Responsibilities: 1. Assisting individuals with personal grooming and hygiene (bathing, dressing, tooth-brushing, etc.) as needed., 2. Assisting individuals in preparing and eating meals (may require that staff cook entire meal and/or prepare food in manner appropriate to needs of the individuals.), 3. Teaching, assisting or performing household maintenance such as cleaning (vacuuming, laundry, etc.) shopping (food, clothing, etc.) and other functions as appropriate or requested by supervisors., 4. Dispensing medications or monitoring self-medicating individuals, and maintaining required documentation of such., 5. Implementing activities required as part of individuals IHP or other plans, and maintaining required documentation of such activities., 6. Transporting individuals as necessary to programs, activities, appointments, recreational functions, etc. as scheduled or requested by supervisors., 7. Attending and participating in required program meetings (staff meetings or training, IHP meetings, etc.) as directed., 8. Completing any appropriate documentation as required on a daily, on-going basis (Daily Logs, etc.) or as needed (seizure charting, etc.) or as directed by supervisors.
