Job Summary: Reporting to The New Press’s Executive Director, the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer (CFAO) will lead and manage all financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the company. Serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the CFAO will oversee effective finance and data systems, conduct finance analysis, and help maintain the smooth functioning of our business and nonprofit operation. The CFAO will manage a small team, leading and coordinating fiscal functions and management; administrative services; human resources; and IT and infrastructure, including systems and systems integration. The CFAO will work with the finance committee of the Board to support The New Press’s financial and organizational health and growth trajectory as the organization’s structure evolves toward sustainability. Financial Management • Oversee and manage short- and long-term financial planning for earned and contributed revenue for the annual budget cycle, liaising closely with senior leadership., • Manage finance and accounting functions, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, inventory policies including setting reserves, royalty accounting and semi-annual royalty payments, payroll, taxes, and other government filings., • guide senior leadership through the annual budget and reforecast processes and oversee the timely release of all financial data to be shared with senior management, the department directors, and the Finance Committee of the Board., • Lead the audit process, working with the auditors and the Finance team to ensure that the audit preparation occurs on a timely basis and that accounting practices are GAPP compliant., • Collaborate with senior leaders and various staff to develop systems and integration of other software used by the organization for effective monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting. Job Description General Purpose of the Job: Under the supervision of the Program Director at our Lighthouse location in Queens, NY, the Facility Manager oversees all maintenance, janitorial, and capital improvement projects performed by the landlord, which includes the care, cleaning, and inspection of public spaces within the development such as buildings, grounds, and garbage disposal areas, in accordance with established procedures. Through overall supervision, the incumbent will direct, coach, support, and champion the Operations Team and manage the hiring of staff members. This individual will ensure the landlord maintains all building systems in working order and is responsible for ensuring the facility meets all building compliance requirements as defined by DOB, HPD, FDNY and other government authorities, while also required to be on-call 24-hours a day, 7-days per week for emergencies during off hours and report to the property management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance • Oversee all building systems, maintenance, repairs, and modifications in partnership with the landlord’s maintenance company., • Observe work operations, procedures and environment to identify possible hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices, formulate corrective measures for safety, • Monitors work orders and ensure repairs are completed by landlord within prescribed guidelines. The Director of Security oversees the security services and related operations, including client service, problem resolution, service enhancement, and account development and is the team leader for catastrophic response. Job Description Title: Respite Worker This position is considered para-professional, non-exempt in nature, requiring specialized training to work with mentally and physically disabled individuals in residential living arrangements. The employee in this position is responsible for the security, safety, and wellbeing of the individuals living within their residence according to his/her specific needs and interests, with the purpose of increasing the quality of life for each person by promoting their respective level of independence. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $80 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs. We are seeking a Part-Time Residence Manager for the Crotona Park residence which is The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for men and women. The population will be a mix of seniors, formerly homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS, individuals diagnosed with a mental illness, and/or substance abuse. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. The majority of Crotona Park residents will be referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) and some by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The Part-Time Residence Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residents and the overall operation of the facility during designated shifts.
