Position Title: Canvasser Fundraiser Reporting Structure: Office Director Rate of Pay: $23/hr plus production-based bonuses Job Classification: Full time, non-exempt Schedule: Full-time 37.5 hours per week Location: New York City Metro Area - Manhattan & Brooklyn Attendance: 100% attendance record is required for all roles within Pathway Strategy Group Benefits: Pathway Strategy Group offers all full-time employees who remain with our team for more than three months full health care, dental, and vision benefits. Any job-related travel, lodging, and other expenses are paid for by Pathway Strategy Group. F2F Recruitment of Committed Donors: * Attend public and private spaces/sites, which may be indoors or outdoors, to actively engage with members of the public and recruit new committed donors for non-profit organizations. * Consistently exceed the committed donor recruitment targets set by the Office Director, typically a minimum of seven new committed donors per week within agreed quality metrics. * Represent Pathway Strategy Group, its clients, and yourself in a professional and informed manner at all times. * Maintain a regulated, calm, and upbeat emotional state and retain a positive mindset to ensure potential donors are engaged with enthusiasm at all times. * Ensure all paper and electronic records are completed accurately. * Maintain punctual attendance to training events and meetings as required. Essential Qualifications and Attributes * The role includes carrying equipment, walking to and from sites, and standing for long periods of time. You will be expected to work outside and be exposed to New York weather. * Professional-level competence in written and spoken English. * Provide your own reliable means of transportation to work sites with all necessary equipment. * Be available to work unsocial hours, including evenings, and weekends. Skills, Knowledge & Attitudes * Self-motivated and with ambition to deliver the best fundraising outcomes; * Flexible in approach to work with a “can-do” attitude to challenges and change; * Demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence; able to manage own emotional state, be resilient in the face of rejection and/or adversity, and disciplined in standards; * Proven customer relations and sales skills; * Influencing and negotiation skills; * Able to remain calm, think clearly and work under pressure and meet deadlines; * Honest, transparent and mature in all communication, with a keen sense of humor Bonus Plans The objectives of the Pathway Strategy Group Bonus Plans are: * to incentivize efficient, high-quality Fundraising: efficiency is measured by Per Shift Average (PSA) and quality by Month 1 Non-Payment Rate (M1); * to ensure Pathway Strategy Group Canvassers are the among the best paid in the USA; * to have a system that rewards activity in an objective way; * to have a system that is easy to understand and explain; * to have a system that is easy to manage and apply. Terms used: Per Shift Average (PSA): The number of Donors recruited divided by the number of shifts worked over a period of time. Donor: An individual, aged 25 or over, who makes an open-ended commitment to donate and who passes a verification process. Minimum Quota: The level required in order to remain employed by Pathway Strategy Group. Base Pay: Hourly wage paid to all employees, at a rate dependent on the role. Base Pay is paid every two weeks in arrears. Bonus Pay: Additional payment made in accordance with the relevant Bonus Plan. Bonus Pay is paid every two weeks in arrears. Bonus Plan: The set of criteria for establishing Bonus Pay. This will be explained in the relevant section and is subject to change. Bonus Threshold: The number of Donors required to be recruited in a week before Bonus Pay is earned. Month 1 Non-Payment Rate (M1): the percentage of Donors from a given period who, through cancellation or non-payment, do not make their second donation at the scheduled time. Canvasser Bonus Plan: Min wage: State minimum wage All new hires will be paid at minimum wage for orientation day. For the first 3 days of in field training, canvassers receive minimum wage. If canvasser does collect 3 donors in those first 3 days of collection, the $23/hr base salary will be retroactively applied. Base Salary ($/hr): $23 Per Hour Quota per week: 7 unique, qualified donors Bonus Threshold: 8 Current Bonus Plan* Initial bonus: $50 per donor signed up once bonus threshold is met Retention bonus: $50 per donor retained Cancellations If a donor cancels within month 1 OR the second donation from a donor is not successfully collected, canvasser will not be eligible for retention bonus. Only active canvassers who are currently employed by Pathway/Shawmut Services will be eligible for the retention bonus. When a Bonus May be Withheld: Under no circumstances will any bonus be payable for any Donor who is signed up fraudulently. The list of what would constitute fraudulently includes, but is not limited to: * Those with an incorrect date of birth, telephone number or email address; * Those with a credit card that is not in their own name; * Those known personally to the Canvasser, i.e. their friends or family; * Anyone who has expressed an intention to cancel the donation within a set period. * Serious complaints, the use of cancel language, or fraud may also result in the entire bonus pool being withheld. * Any member of staff who has a month one cancellation or non-payment rate of 20% or higher will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. * Bonus Plans are subject to change Please note: * Duties may change at any time and Pathway Strategy Group reserves the right to update and change your job description at any time. * Pathway Strategy Group is an at-will employer; this document is an outline of expected essential functions of the role but is not inclusive of all duties.
