Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Grossing Technician to support our client’s medical facility in Clifton NJ 07012. This is 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Grossing Technician Location: Clifton NJ 07012 Pay Rate: $28-$31 per hour Duration: 3 Months+ Schedule: Tue to Sat 2AM - 10:30AM (40hr/week) Responsibilities: • Perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of surgical specimens for histologic processing., • Ensure accurate specimen accessioning, labeling, and patient identification while maintaining specimen integrity., • Describe gross anatomic features of routine surgical specimens, including lesions, sutures, and markings., • Dissect surgical specimens and prepare tissue samples for histologic processing., • Record specimen measurements, weight, volume, and abnormal findings accurately., • Escalate complex or non-routine specimens to Pathologist Assistants when required., • Complete all required documentation and associated paperwork accurately., • Interact directly with pathologists regarding specimen dissection and description activities., • Identify issues affecting test performance or reporting and notify supervisors appropriately., • Follow laboratory procedures, safety protocols, quality control, and quality assurance standards., • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, federal, and local laboratory regulations., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment., • Assist with basic Histology functions such as embedding, microtomy, and staining when trained and qualified., • A.A., A.S., B.A., or B.S. degree or equivalent training and experience., • 3 months to 1 year of Histology and/or surgical grossing experience preferred., • Knowledge of specimen handling, gross examination, and histologic processing procedures., • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced laboratory environment., • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to meet all corporate and CLIA requirements for personnel performing tissue gross examinations.
