POSITION SUMMARY To perform this job successfully, the Assistant Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the warehouse function, including administrative and clerical functions, to ensure operations efficiency and safe work environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Supervise and control the work load of assigned personnel., • Helps support the overseeing of employees in the New York Warehouse Function., • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; escalating issues that can’t be resolved., • Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the warehouse function to ensure established procedures for shipping, product rotation, sanitation, safety, and timeliness are met., • Perform forklift driver duties/tasks as needed., • Deliver the products to customers (distributors and retail supermarkets) with all paperwork completed and submitted back to office., • Receive and unload the incoming shipments., • Pick and arrange the product orders accordingly to support sales effort., • Attend and support marketing and sales off site activities e.g. street fairs., • Monitor loading, dispatching, and receiving plans and suggest appropriate changes as necessary., • Monitor and complete all reports and related paperwork, including damage reports., • Monitor product damage and audit routes to ensure reliable product delivery., • Develop and maintain a safe work environment., • Routinely inform and communicate with employees on warehouse productivity, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure OSHA compliance., • Ensure that accidents and workers’ compensation claims are reported to Warehouse Manager/ Administrative Officer / Human Resources for investigation and reporting action., • Resolve workplace conflicts utilizing positive employee relations, and escalating details to the respective people., • Ensure that all warehouse equipment is operated properly and safely., • Plan and coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance utilizing logs., • Assign necessary housekeeping tasks to ensure a neat, clean, organized, and safe working environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • This position requires at least an A.A. degree and 3 years of warehouse supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience., • This position requires minimum of 2 years forklift operating experience in warehouse environment. Industry forklift certificate is required., • Must be able to safely drive and operate a sit-down forklift., • Must have a valid Class D driver’s license and excellent driving record to perform essential job functions., • Must obtain and maintain a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate., • Ideal candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office; for example, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. SAP experience is desired., • Ideal candidate must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in a practical manner., • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form., • The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English; Chinese is a plus., • Excellent customer service skills with ability to present favorable company image to staff and customers., • Effectively communicate safety policies, practices, and procedures to meet safety objectives.
