Location: New York, NY Location Type: On-site Pay Range: $25 – $28 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Description Devocion is seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our growing Technical Service Department. As America’s freshest specialty coffee provider, Devocion is redefining what it means to deliver quality — not only through fresh roasting, but also through exceptional equipment and facility support for our coffee shops. Devocion is the only roaster in the U.S. roasting fresh green beans just 15–30 days after leaving origin — far faster than traditional roasters. Overview We are looking for a proactive, hands-on individual to join our team as a Handyman / Maintenance Technician. This role combines general maintenance work with the opportunity to learn how to repair and maintain coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, water systems, etc.). If you enjoy working with tools, solving problems, and want to develop specialized technical skills, this position is for you. As a technician, you’ll deepen your knowledge of coffee equipment while helping maintain the quality standards that make Devocion unique. Responsibilities • Perform general repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.), • Conduct preventive maintenance of facilities, • Assist with installation and repair of coffee equipment, • Diagnose issues and propose effective solutions, • Keep tools and work areas organized, • Learn and apply maintenance techniques for coffee machinery Requirements • Previous experience as a handyperson or in general maintenance, • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, • Ability to use hand and power tools, • Strong willingness to learn and sense of responsibility, • Driver’s license, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications • Experience with general maintenance projects, • Experience with coffee equipment or similar machinery, • Interest in coffee and its technology, • Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance Physical Requirements • Ability to frequently move around for extended periods of time (8+ hours per day, 5 days per week)., • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs., • Ability to operate store machinery for extended periods of time. About the Role The General Manager will oversee all aspects of Devocion's retail operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, financial profitability, and adherence to the highest safety and quality standards. This individual will manage day-to-day operations, optimize inventory and labor, ensure health regulation compliance, and drive business growth. Additionally, the GM will be responsible for managing sales, staff performance, and operational efficiency while supporting and implementing company policies, guidelines, and best practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who leads by example, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and a sense of belonging. The GM will create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive atmosphere for both staff and customers, ensuring every team member feels valued and appreciated. The General Manager will report directly to the District Manager. Having your own transportation a must. Experience preferred. Duties include but are not limited to the following: -Care of hospitalized and boarding patients including daily walks, cage cleaning, exercising, feeding, observation for signs of illness, medicating, bathing dogs and cats when necessary and keeping animals clean. -General and detailed maintenance and cleaning of hospital inside and out, including public and employee areas, sidewalks/parking area to be kept neat, clean and odor free for our clientele. Sweeping, shoveling, vacuuming, mopping. Stocking the hospital and office areas. -Assisting the Doctors and Technicians when required with the patients. The position requires the ability to lift 30-40 lbs, and learning animal restraint techniques.
