Job Description Lead Millwork Drafter Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Drafter to develop detailed shop drawings and production documentation for custom millwork, luxury retail fixtures, and architectural interiors. This role involves providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drafters and detailers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. Responsibilities • Develop detailed shop drawings and production documentation for custom millwork, luxury retail fixtures, and architectural interiors., • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to drafters and detailers., • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, completeness, and compliance with company standards., • Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, Estimators, CNC Programmers, and Production teams throughout project execution., • Assist in establishing and maintaining drafting standards, best practices, and quality control procedures., • Participate in design reviews and technical planning meetings., • Identify opportunities to improve drafting efficiency, workflows, and manufacturing processes., • Support CNC programming and manufacturing integration through accurate modeling and documentation., • Troubleshoot technical challenges involving custom millwork, glass, metal, lighting, hardware, and specialty materials. Essential Skills • 10+ years of experience in millwork drafting, detailing, or engineering., • Extensive experience with luxury retail environments, high-end architectural interiors, or custom fixture manufacturing., • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD., • Strong working knowledge of Microvellum and CNC manufacturing processes., • Thorough understanding of millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, and fabrication techniques., • Ability to create highly detailed shop drawings and production-ready documentation., • Experience coordinating wood, metal, glass, stone, lighting, and specialty materials., • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities., • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working within a custom millwork manufacturing environment., • Experience leading technical teams, mentoring drafters, or establishing drafting standards., • Familiarity with luxury retail brands, flagship stores, hospitality environments, or architectural interiors., • Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, production processes, and CNC integration., • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives within drafting and engineering operations. Work Environment This is an in-office role within a small team where collaboration and direct contribution to project success are emphasized. The start time is between 7:00 and 7:30 AM, and the workday finishes when tasks are completed.
