City Parks Foundation seeks a Part-Time Environmental Educator to work during the school year with theSeeds to Trees program. Seeds to Trees focuses on educating elementary and middle school students about urban ecology, forest ecology, marine ecology, parks stewardship, and conservation. This program blends hands-on classroom sessions and outdoor field experiences in parks and offers professional development for partner teachers. The Part-Time Educator would be in charge of implementing established lesson plans in CPFs current curricula as part of the school day and afterschool programs from October-June. This includes sessions in the classroom and outdoors as part of field experiences. The Part-Time Educator reports to the Associate Director of Environmental Education. The floating associate will fill in for head teachers and psychosocial teachers when needed to provide instruction and social-emotional support to students. The occupational therapist works with a caseload of students in K - 5th grade. This job operates in a school setting. School is located on the 1st, 5th, and 6th floors of a building with elevators, although occasionally walking the stairs from 1st to 6th floor is necessary. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the school and very occasionally traveling between campus buildings located approximately two blocks away from each other. Job Description The Jewish Community Project (JCP) of Lower Manhattan was founded in 2002 as a grassroots effort to grow Jewish life in downtown NYC. Based in Tribeca, JCP is an open and dynamic non-denominational Jewish community that enables individuals and families to become a creative force in the life of the organization through educational, cultural, social, and spiritual experiences. The organization now serves approximately 300 downtown families and individuals, and also operates a prominent Early Childhood Center (ECC) and a thriving Hebrew school (the Hebrew School Project, or HSP). JCP is seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant Director to join our Hebrew School Project (HSP) team and ensure the seamless daily operations of our vibrant Hebrew school community. HSP is a community-centered, hands-on program serving upwards of 215 learners ages 3.5-18, where our priority is to give learners a strong sense of belonging and ensure a fun, positive connection to Jewish life. Reporting to the Director, your mission will be to oversee the day-to-day HSP activities, support the teaching staff, and ensure an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all of our students.
