Please review the job details below and then click “apply.” We're looking for someone to join our team as a Manager, Pharmacy Operations who: The Manager, Pharmacy Operations at Clinica Sierra Vista oversees the Retail Pharmacy department, 340B Program and all related responsibilities. These responsibilities shall include the establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures, ongoing monitoring and evaluation of pharmaceutical services, procurement, preparation, storage, distribution and control of all drugs in the pharmacies and floor stock of the clinics and participate in relevant planning, policy and assisting Director of Pharmacy with decision-making activities. The Manager will assist the Director of Pharmacy as the Primary Contact for the HRSA OPAIS 340B database and consult with the medical/administrative staff in matters related to his/her area of expertise. Essential Functions: 1. Establish, annually review and update when necessary written policies and procedures for the administration, distribution and accountability of pharmaceuticals in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations including California Board of Pharmacy requirements, Medication Management guidelines of Joint Commission, National Patient Safety Goals and 340B Program Guidelines., 2. May serve as Primary Contact for the HRSA OPAIS 340B database in absence of Director of Pharmacy ensuring database is accurate and up to date. The Manager must be knowledgeable about and be ready to assist the Director of Pharmacy with: a. Annual HRSA recertification, b. 340B guidance and/or rule changes and ensuring the Clinica Sierra Vista 340B program remains compliant. 3. Annually complete the Apexus 340B University training and regularly attend 340b meetings, 4. Initiates, schedules, directs and controls day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department and the in-house pharmacies. Selects employees who meet all the educational, training, licensure and experience requirements. Evaluates, on at least an annual basis, pharmacist competence and job-related knowledge and skills., 5. Work directly with Pharmacy Management System vendor on fixes and enhancements to optimize the pharmacy software and ensure all state and federal requirements are met., 6. Be knowledgeable about and manage payor contracting and PBM audits for in-house pharmacies., 7. Provides information to the medical and nursing staff on new additions to the formulary, protocols, cost-saving measures, drug shortages, drug recalls, medication management, etc., 8. Monitors and evaluates pharmaceutical services in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and current standards through audits of medication storage areas, monthly 340B self-audits, 340B Program audit, external 340B audits, and 340B contract pharmacy audits., 9. Serves as internal and external 340B coordinator and liaison for all 340B related matters., 10. Coordinates pharmacy department’s activities with those of other departments and coordinates with other management staff in establishing checks and quality controls to ensure quality of care., 11. May serve as a member of Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee overseeing the administration of the formulary, Joint Commission Medication Management Guidelines, National Patient Safety Goals and 340B Program., 12. Assists Director of Pharmacy with developing and maintaining 340B compliance program working with Apexus PVP, CPCA, NACHC, finance department, senior leadership, PBMs, TPAs, PSAO, wholesalers, software vendors and others as needed., 13. Assists Director of Pharmacy with developing budgets and monitors performance of Pharmacy Department including in-house pharmacies, 340B Contract Pharmacies and Clinical Pharmacy MTM Programs., 14. Perform introductory and annual employee reviews, competency forms, and provide constructive feedback on their performance to help meet organizational and professional goals., 15. Perform other work-related duties as required. You'll be successful with the following qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy is preferable., 2. Must have a California license, Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferable, though not required., 3. Three (3) years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferable., 4. Bilingual (Spanish, English) in reading, writing, and speaking preferable., 5. Ability to work well with other people.
