Job Description Passaic County Community College is looking for a Basic Needs Resource Specialist. The Basic Needs Resource Specialist will assist with technical, programmatic, and day to day operations of the Center. Duties include: • Manage and supervise peer leader program, recruit prospective new students for program, • Coordinate and conduct student assistant and peer leadership training. Job DescriptionSalary: GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: Provides case management, to assist mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis clients. Assist clients to access medical, educational, social, prevocational, and rehabilitative or other needed community services for eligible individuals. Provides crisis intervention services for clients in various situations. Connect youth with service according to their Individual Service Strategy (ISS) plan, in order to support informed and individualized connections to education, training, WIOA programs, DVRS supported employment, military, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship, and unsubsidized competitive employment. Complete required documentation for all services as outlined by the grant. Essential Functions: • Work with Team for Outreach efforts to enroll youth eligible applicants., • Review new eligible applicants; send start letter/email within 5 business days of receiving new applicant to schedule intake., • Follow up on new applicants that do not come to their first & second appointment, collect paperwork, employable ID, and ISS Plan– not more than 15 days after receiving applicant information., • Explain and review all GW policies, procedures and handbook to new referrals, provide tours (if applicable) and overview of services., • Complete required documentation (including Intakes, ISS Plans, Progress Notes, and other required documentation) within specified timeframes., • Connect & schedule each youth for intake/registration with local county One-Stop Career Center, • Obtain documentation from One-Stop Career WIOA Youth determining eligibility., • Register each youth with local county DVRS office for Vocational Rehabilitation Services., • Administer assessment to obtain interest/needs of youth and CASAS Goals (as needed) to assist in determining realistic and attainable vocational goals.
