American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 12 weeks, • Hospital ICU setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population, • High-acuity unit with a wide range of ICU diagnoses, including a high volume of ventilated patients and arterial lines (A-lines), • Patient ratio of 1:2–3, • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), • Every other weekend required, • Floating within the facility and to a sister campus within scope of practice as needed, • No on-call requirements, • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework, • Navy blue scrubs requiredRequirements, • Active GA or compact RN license required, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, • Proficiency with Epic EMR required, • Experience with titration of continuous infusions including sedation agents, pain medications, paralytic agents, and vasopressors required, • Competency on the Baxter PrisMax machine required to care for CRRT patientsAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Local candidates are accepted, • RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment, • If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them, • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1), • Travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year before returning as a traveler, • Multidisciplinary morning rounds include the intensivist, bedside RN, PharmD, RRT, OT/PT, dietitian, case manager, and wound care, • Patient transport (e.g., to CT) is performed by the bedside RN, tech, and RRT if the patient is on a ventilator, • Night shift NPs place central lines, vascaths, and A-lines, attend all codes, manage ICU care issues, and admit patients from the ED to the ICU — they serve as first call before the intensivist With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
