Job Description All phlebotomists shall perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of United WestLabs, Inc. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of quality of customer care and satisfaction in a cost effective manner. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position shall perform phlebotomy on patients. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient., 5. Ensure that the Medicare Secondary Form (“MSP”) is completed when necessary., 6. Accurately collect all specimens necessary to fulfill the clients’ lab orders., 8. Ensure that draw station where you work is kept clean and adequately stocked with supplies every day., 9. On a daily basis, inform your Operations Supervisor of your job performance issues, concerns and schedule. Additional Responsibilities: 1. Perform the duties of a courier if called upon., 2. Deliver supplies when necessary., 3. Obtain any additional information if called upon., 4. Contact Medicare patients to fulfill compliance requirements in regard to MSP forms. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements: • Phlebotomy Certificate and license if applicable, • Ability to proficiently perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, • Organization and problem solving skills, • Evaluative and interpretive skills, • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in work environment, • Communication skills, both verbal and written, • Telephone etiquette, • Interpersonal skills, • Knowledge of medical terminology Physical Requirements: • Continuous sitting (up to 6 hrs/day), • Continuous walking (up to 6 hrs/day), • Intermittent bending, squatting, and climbing, • Simple grasping with both hands, • Pushing and pulling with both hands, • Fine manipulation with both hands, repetitive movement
