Florida Dental Association +3 Key Responsibilities • Clinical Assisting: Prepare patients for treatment and assist orthodontists during bonding, wire adjustments, and bracket repairs., • Direct Patient Care: Perform routine adjustments, such as changing archwires, ligatures (elastic bands), and springs., • Diagnostic Support: Take intraoral X-rays, digital scans (like iTero), and physical molds or impressions for treatment planning., • Sterilization & Setup: Ensure all orthodontic instruments are properly sterilized and that treatment rooms are stocked and ready for each appointment., • Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene, how to care for their appliances, and what to do in case of emergencies like a broken wire.
