Summary We are seeking a licensed and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. The NP will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative care planning for individuals receiving treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders. This role offers the flexibility to work hybrid at our New Jersey facility and remotely via secure telehealth platforms. Full-Time Availability: β’ Core Day: Mandatory availability on Thursdays., β’ Other Days: Flexible scheduling for the remaining days., β’ Core Days: Must be available on Saturdays and Sundays., β’ Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluations, β’ Diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders, β’ Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in compliance with state and federal guidelines, β’ Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, β’ Maintain thorough documentation in electronic health records (EHR), β’ Provide crisis intervention support as needed, β’ Expert ability to assess, diagnose, and treat severe intoxication and withdrawal syndromes (e.g., alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines)., β’ Proficient in prescribing and managing Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine, naltrexone, and acamprosate., β’ Competence in identifying and managing co-occurring psychiatric and medical disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, hypertension) alongside substance use disorder., β’ Skill in performing thorough health histories, physical exams, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests and Urine Drug Screens (UDS)., β’ Expertise in providing non-judgmental education on the disease of addiction and utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques., β’ Deep knowledge of the neurobiology of addiction and the pharmacodynamics of psychoactive substances and their antidotes., β’ Ability to perform risk assessment (suicide, violence, relapse) and effectively apply de-escalation techniques., β’ Competence in screening for and managing co-morbidities common in this population (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis C, Endocarditis)., β’ Excellent communication and ability to work seamlessly with the interdisciplinary team (counselors, social workers, psychiatrists)., β’ Current APRN or PA license in the state of New Jersey, required, β’ DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances, required, β’ Certification in Psychiatry (PMHNP) or Family Practice with behavioral health experience, preferred, β’ DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances, required, β’ Prior experience in substance abuse and/or mental health treatment settings strongly preferred, β’ Excellent communication and clinical skills, β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
