Job Description Purpose and Scope: Oversees the operations of a transportation terminal. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the terminal while meeting customer service standa rds and adhering to regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the terminal. This includes overseeing activities such as loading and unloading of cargo, ticketing, passenger boarding, security procedures, maintenance of terminal infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations., • Manage terminal staff, including supervisors, operations personnel, customer service representatives, maintenance workers, and security personnel. This involves scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands., • Prioritize customer service by ensuring that passengers, shippers, and other terminal users have a positive experience., • Implement policies and procedures to streamline processes, address customer inquiries or complaints, and improve overall satisfaction., • Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and security measures to protect personnel, passengers, cargo, and terminal facilities from risks such as accidents, theft, vandalism, and terrorism., • Oversee the terminal's budget, financial resources, and expenditures. They may develop budget plans, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that financial objectives are met while maintaining operational efficiency., • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, permits, and industry guidelines governing terminal operations, safety, environmental protection, and labor practices., • Safety Vest, • Safety Glasses, • Overseeing daily terminal operations and optimizing workflows for efficiency., • Leading and motivating a team, managing performance, and fostering a positive work environment. Education/ Training: • Business Administration, • Management, • Operations Management, • Logistics, • Supply Chain Management, • Transportation Management, • Industrial Engineering, • Proficiency in using terminal management and logistics software for scheduling, tracking, and reporting. Examples include TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)., • Ability to analyze operational data, generate reports, and use data to make informed decisions. Familiarity with tools like Excel, and possibly more advanced data analytics software., • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of terminal equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, and automated systems. Experience: • Two years of experience must be supervisory experience gained within five years immediately prior to hire date.
