Job Description We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a night shift hospital-based opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience and strong skills in patient care, medication administration, emergency response, and supportive nursing care. This role involves working under the direction of Registered Nurses and licensed healthcare providers to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care in a structured clinical environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care within the scope of Licensed Practical Nurse practice., • Assist patients with activities of daily living and restorative care needs., • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols., • Perform routine nursing procedures including suctioning, urinary catheterization, specimen collection, and IV therapy support., • Prepare patients for surgeries, examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments., • Set up intravenous equipment and assist with infusion therapy through peripheral access devices., • Administer blood and blood products following specialized training and established guidelines., • Monitor patient conditions and promptly report observations, incidents, and changes in status to the Registered Nurse., • Accurately document nursing care, treatments, medications, and patient responses in the medical record., • Reinforce patient and family education plans developed by the Registered Nurse., • Provide emotional support and ensure patient comfort and safety at all times., • Assist with rehabilitation activities and support individualized nursing care plans., • Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary collaboration., • Support emergency resuscitative procedures including BCLS and emergency response activation as directed. Qualifications • Completion of an accredited educational program for Licensed Practical Nurses required., • Active New York State LPN license required., • Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based LPN experience required., • Outpatient facility experience required., • Experience working with both adult and pediatric patient populations required., • Vaccine administration experience required., • Successful completion of New York State Department of Health LPN IV Therapy Initial Program required., • Annual IV therapy procedure competency updates required., • Current BLS certification through AHA required., • ACLS certification through AHA preferred/required based on assignment needs., • Strong skills in patient care, charting, therapy support, and emergency nursing required., • Knowledge of medication administration, IV therapy, and blood administration procedures required., • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills required., • Associate’s Degree preferred/required based on facility standards., • Availability to work night shifts from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM required.
