The Associate Director of Family Services & Health is responsible for coaching and providing supervisory guidance to Family Engagement team members (Family Advocates and ERSEA Coordinator) in order to strengthen staff capacity. The Family Services & Health Manager will work collaboratively with other Head Start and DREAM staff in order to enhance family life practices and circumstances that promote child development and well-being. Responsibilities • Outcomes-Based Family Engagement, • Work in collaboration with DREAM Leadership to develop, implement and refine the program’s family engagement approach;, • Oversee and monitor family goal-setting, follow-up and coordination; analyze and act on data to ensure that families achieve significant progress on self-sufficiency goals;, • Ensure the implementation of a research-based Family Curriculum that extends our classroom curriculum into the family's home;, • Develop strategies and community partnerships to ensure that children and families’ preventive and health treatment needs are met;, • Engage families as leaders in building a program environment that promotes health and wellness;, • Coordinate with key stakeholders to execute high quality case consultation and conferencing systems to address the needs of vulnerable families and children with chronic health conditions and/or special needs;, • Secure long-term relationships for families to providers who will support their children’s health and well-being, and proactively support all families needs, providing on-site support and interventions., • Health, Wellness, & EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment Health) Adherence, • Develop and implement annual screening plan and program-wide health and wellness campaigns;, • Provide guidance and supervision to the Family Engagement team to ensure that all family medical, dental, and EPSDT determinations are accurate and up-to-date and that there are robust supports for the families of children with chronic health conditions and special needs;, • Design and facilitate health-related trainings per Head Start, local, and state requirements., • Planning, Monitoring, and Record Keeping, • Support the establishment and implementation of effective health-related policies and procedures;, • Oversee a comprehensive system of services for preventing health problems and intervening promptly when they do exist;, • Maintain accurate records and case notes to support positive child and family outcomes, completing data entry and periodic reporting as required;, • Conduct Health & Safety Audits;, • Maintain qualitative and quantitative quality improvement and monitoring systems in order to ensure that program strategies are executed with reliability, fidelity and quality., • Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment & Attendance, • Oversee eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards;, • Provide guidance and supervision to the ERSEA Coordinator to fulfill all aspects of their role including maintaining active and up to date waiting lists, filling vacancies within required timeframes, assuring that children are selected according to Head Start Performance Standards eligibility guidelines, coordinating with district collaborators, maintaining data systems, etc., • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies;, • Work with key stakeholders to ensure the on-time daily attendance of all children and implement strategies to reduce chronic absences;, • Review and approve applications as needed;, • Support program leadership to assure that all Policy Council and Board members receive ERSEA training within HSPS time requirements., • Team Leadership, • Coach and provide supervisory guidance to Family Engagement team members in order to strengthen staff capacity;, • Support with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports;, • Educate direct reports on all department and agency policies and procedures;, • Meet with direct reports regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures;, • Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required., • Spanish-English Translation and Interpretation (preferred), • Provide translation and interpretation as needed, including but not limited to translating documents, facilitating family meetings, supporting trainings, activities, and workshops for families, and enabling communication between families and staff., • Additional duties related to the running of the school, network, and programs as assigned.Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree, required (with a major of Family and Child Development, Public Health, Social Work or related field, preferred), Master’s degree preferred;, • Minimum of three years of experience working with diverse families in low income communities, required;, • Minimum one year of experience and a successful record of managing people, developing teams, leading organizational change, and leading projects across multiple sites, required;, • Bilingual (Spanish), highly preferred;, • Experience working in and managing Head Start programs, highly preferred;, • Experience executing evidence-based strategies to strengthen outcomes for children and families;, • Excited to take on the opportunities that come with running a growing school, approaching them with
