Job Description: Vice President of Supply Chain Position Overview The Vice President of Supply Chain is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for overseeing all Purchasing, Production Planning and Materials Management within a fast-paced nutraceutical manufacturing environment. This executive will lead and develop a high-performing team while optimizing end-to-end supply chain performance to support on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and cost management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, data-driven supply chain leader with deep experience in regulated manufacturing (nutraceuticals, food, pharma, or similar), strong command of SAP, and the proven ability to design and execute robust purchasing and planning strategies. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Supply Chain Management • Develop and execute the company’s supply chain strategy to support growth, operational performance, and customer satisfaction., • Lead Purchasing, Planning and Materials Management, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment., • Oversee procurement of raw materials, components, and packaging materials for nutraceutical manufacturing., • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality and compliance., • Evaluate supplier performance and proactively manage risks related to availability, pricing, and lead times., • Oversee the creation and execution of production plans that align with sales forecasts, customer demand, and capacity constraints., • Ensure robust MRP and MPS processes within SAP to drive accurate scheduling and inventory requirements., • Develop planning standards and KPIs to manage inventory health, minimize shortages, and reduce excess or obsolete materials., • Serve as the executive owner for SAP processes within the supply chain function., • Ensure proper configuration, data integrity, and utilization of SAP modules related to MRP, procurement, inventory, and production planning., • Partner with Operations, Quality, Sales, Finance, and R&D to support customer commitments, new product introductions, and operational efficiency., • Lead or support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes to align demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory strategies., • Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing supply chain organization., • Create a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development. Required • 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Planning leadership roles, preferably in nutraceuticals, food, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or CPG manufacturing., • Demonstrated expertise in Purchasing and Production Planning., • Strong, hands-on SAP experience with deep working knowledge of procurement, MRP/MPS, inventory, and planning modules., • Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams., • Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills., • Experience implementing or leading S&OP/MPS processes., • Background in managing complex packaging operations or multi-phase manufacturing environments., • APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or similar., • Strategic and operational leadership, • Strong business and financial acumen, • Excellent communication and change management, • ERP/SAP mastery, • Supplier negotiation and relationship management, • Continuous improvement mindset
