SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sanitation Operator is responsible for maintaining the general sanitation and cleanliness of the UDA facility. The Sanitation Operator will work within Clean in Place, state, federal, and food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of products. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Regularly provide prompt and detailed assistance for a variety of sanitation and environmental cleaning conditions., • inspect products and equipment for compliance with UDA Clean in Place (CIP) standards and federal and state sanitation laws., • Perform regular cleaning of equipment, tools, outer surfaces, and general plant facility., • Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions and take corrective action when necessary., • Coordinate with UDA Quality Control team on regular facility testing and HAZMAT cleanup., • Respond to environmental contamination requests pertaining to pathogen and bacteria contamination and chemical spills., • Conduct regular inspections, washes, and sanitation of equipment and machinery in a confined space – including tankers, dryers, bag houses, and receivers., • Document, log, and report completed sanitation tasks, work orders, and checklists., • Maintain a clean and organized work area., • Manage on-hand inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and chemicals., • Adhere to and keep updated on all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and HACCP guidelines., • Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately. QUALIFICATIONS: Skills & Abilities: • Ability to lift, maneuver, push, and pull items on a repetitive bases and for extended periods of time., • Ability to comprehend and implement CIP practices in compliance with UDA, state, and federal sanitation guidelines., • Ability to work in a variety of work environments which may include heights, confined spaces, slippery surfaces, and extreme temperatures., • Ability to efficiently clean tools, workstations, equipment, and plant., • Ability to safely handle, move, and use hazardous chemicals for cleaning purposes., • Excellent time-management and self-motivation with the ability to complete routine tasks, accurately and with minimal supervision., • Team-player that is willing to assist others in a variety of plant functions, when needed., • Ability to take detailed, accurate, and legible notes., • Basic understanding of food preparation, sanitation, and/or production line process.
