Job Description Position Summary The Building Maintenance Technician is a role that is tasked with supporting our Retail, Warehouse, Caves & Commissary teams with all property engineering and maintenance requests. This role will be a hands-on team member who maintains property appearance, equipment, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems that lead to a better customer experience. This includes physical plant and fixtures to provide maximum profitability and operational efficiency. He/She/They perform diverse, hands-on tasks including minor plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC maintenance, painting, and carpentry. This role conducts preventative maintenance, responds to repair requests, manages outside vendors when needed, and manages tools to keep buildings running smoothly. He/She/They are responsible for maintaining basic systems operation, facility cleanliness, and completing repairs to other building components that influence customer service. What You Do • General & Preventative Maintenance:, • Inspecting and servicing machinery, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems to prevent failures., • Fixing broken items, such as repairing drywall, replacing light fixtures, repairing leaks, and fixing doors/locks., • Painting, cleaning, and repairing walls, floors, and surfaces., • Ensuring fire alarms, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors are operational, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations., • Responding with urgency to repair requests from location managers or their team members., • Maintains and cleans building equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and electrical outlets., • Facility Upkeep:, • Keeps common areas, restrooms, and other public spaces clean and tidy., • Ensures cardboard and other rubbish is removed from warehouse floor., • Performs routine cleaning tasks, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming., • Ensures that building systems are operating efficiently and safely., • Responsible for basic snow and ice removal during winter months., • Inventory and Supplies:, • Manages and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment., • Orders and restocks supplies as needed., • Keeps work areas organized and clean., • Other Duties:, • Required to work on-call or during off-hours for emergency maintenance requests, • Responsible for maintaining records of maintenance activities and repairs, • Must be able to operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, • Required to wear appropriate safety gear and follow safety procedures, • Other duties as assigned What We Need From You • 2+years in a mix of retail and hospitality management with an emphasis on commercial space maintenance, • Effective communication (listening, verbal, and written) skills and ability to work well with all levels of management, team members & external contractors/partners, • Basic construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, & plumbing, • Skilled in using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, wrenches), • Ability to diagnose & fix basic mechanical or electrical issues.
