Job Description Therapist - Counseling Center - 60% Full-Time (21 hours per week) Summary: The Trauma Therapist position is 60% of a full-time position (21 hours per week) and is a hybrid position with 11 hours onsite and 10 hours remote. Onsite hours include 4 hours every Saturday and one shift from 12:00 to 8:00 during the week. This is an excellent position for clinicians in need of licensing hours and who wish to become experts in several evidence-based treatments for survivors of all ages of interpersonal violence. The Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC) is a New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic that specializes, exclusively, in the trauma-focused treatment of child and adult survivors of interpersonal violence and other forms of abuse. SHCC also functions as the mental health “hub” of Safe Horizon, the largest crime victim’s assistance agency in the country. Our main clinic is located at 41 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, and we operate two satellites that are co-located at other Safe Horizon programs. Nearly half of SHCC’s clients are referred by one of Safe Horizon’s vast arrays of programs. The Trauma Therapist will receive paid training and supervision in a variety of evidence-based treatments for trauma survivors, and the client hours meet New York State’s experience requirements for LCSW licensure. Responsibilities: • Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients., • Demonstrates exceptional engagement skills and clinical expertise in the provision of trauma-focused mental health treatment to SHCC clients (at least 60% engagement rate after 6 months);, • Provides time-limited, evidence-based trauma-focused individual treatment to clients of all ages;, • Develops and maintains expertise in the clinic’s chosen methods of treatment including TF-CBT and Seeking Safety, as well as CPP, ARC, SPARCS, and CFTSI, as assigned;, • Monitors treatment fidelity following training in evidence-based treatments;, • Responds to the occasional client crisis, as necessary, with the support of the Clinical Director and/or Clinical Supervisor;, • Requests and participates in case conferences as necessary;, • Maintains a caseload of 16 clients at all times, • Maintains a productivity level of 12 billable services per week (totaling 564 billable visits per year), • Participates in weekly supervision and treatment planning meetings;, • Maintains timely and accurate documentation of all case activities such that it is in “audit-ready” compliance with all Safe Horizon City, State, and Federal requirements;, • Must be able to attend weekly meetings on Zoom every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for training and group supervision., • Must be able to work 4 hours onsite every Saturday indefinitely. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Bilingual Licensed Psychologist to join it's Mental Health department. • Title of Position: Bilingual Licensed Psychologist, • Position Type: Full-time, • Salary Range: $81,000 - $86,000, • Location: 825 7th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019, • Provides individual, family, and collateral psychotherapy sessions to children, adolescents and adults in NAC's Mental Health Clinic, • Provides psychological and developmental evaluations, • Participates in NAC's Building Blocks parent-child bonding program, providing dyadic therapy using a mentalization-based treatment modality, • Conducts intake assessments and diagnostic interviews, • Completes required documentation including progress notes and treatment plans, • Acts as a psychological consultant to staff within NAC's child welfare programs (i.e. Prevention and Foster Care), • Provides consultation to foster care staff and clinical care to children with foster care involvement as part of the Article 29I, • Provides supervision to psychology trainees, • Participates as part of the Psychology Training Committee (i.e. takes part in psychology internship and externship recruitment, evaluation of trainees, evaluation of the internship/externship programs, etc.), • Provides didactic training to psychology trainees and/or to NAC staff, • Receives approximately two hours of supervision weekly provided by licensed psychologists, one hour provided by the Director of Psychological Services, and one hour provided by psychological consultants to the Building Blocks program, • Participates in bi-monthly group supervision with licensed psychologists at NAC Required Education and Experience: • Candidates for the bilingual licensed psychologist position must hold an active license in NYS to practice psychology and a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Applied Developmental, School, Counseling Psychology or closely related area from an accredited graduate psychology program. Required Skills: • Candidates should have experience working with populations that represent a range of backgrounds and clinical presentations, and should have some experience with children with developmental or medical disabilities. POSITION OVERVIEW The Program Administrator of Substance Use Disorder Services is responsible for the administrative oversight of the OASAS certified 822 Comprehensive Integrated Outpatient Treatment Program. The program serves adults who have a primary substance use disorder diagnosis and those diagnosed with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. In collaboration with the Senior Administrator of Outpatient and MAT programs, the Program Administrator will ensure that her/his programs are accessible, effective, and compliant with all applicable regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures and financially sustainable. As part of the management team, the Program Administrator will actively participate in the integration of behavioral healthcare services including the development and sustainability of a comprehensive, patient centered, trauma informed recovery model. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Direct the implementation of systematic workflows to include integration of medical, substance use, and mental health services in the 822-outpatient clinic., • Plan and develop the integration model of medical, clinical, and mental health services., • Directs the implementation of policies and procedures noting deficiencies and needed changes and amendments when necessary., • Participate in agency management and planning activities including community outreach, • Provide leadership, guidance, direction, and supervision to program managers and administrative support staff., • Recruit, hire and provide training to program leaders to ensure department goals are communicated effectively, job performance is continuously evaluated, • Provide guidance with the ongoing evaluation, counseling, and disciplining of program personnel., • Manages outpatient clinic operations to budgeted and planned results, • Prepares reports for all funding and monitoring sources, • Leads the preparation, guidance, and direction for all program audits both internal and external, • Monitors and makes program evaluations and reports results to the Senior Administrator of the Division., • Provides supervision to the Program Director and other administrative support staff managers., • Identify issues that have direct impact on service integration and operation of outpatient clinic., • Recommend new workflows to alleviate systemic problematic areas that need improving., • Co-Facilitates monthly departmental staff meetings with the Medical Director., • Identifies and recommends Evidence Base Practices (EBP) curriculums to improve treatment outcomes., • Collaborates with Program Director and internal review committee on QI reports to improve program outcomes, patient care, and staff performance., • Continuously evaluate program development and progress of integrated services through staff productivity and performance., • Participates in political activities to keep company connected within appropriate circles such as client and community advisory board meetings, • Demonstrate organizational compliance with all appropriate professional standards, licensing, and certification requirements, as well as funders’ conditions for the effective delivery of behavioral health care programming., • Manage data and/or report in accordance with OASAS, DOH and all other regulatory requirements., • Prepare activity reports to inform administration of program progress with integration of program services and quality initiatives., • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the treatment program and services through valid and reliable performance indicators., • Participate in the revenue cycle meetings, annual budget process and service-mix by providing collaborative feedback and securing progressive financial sustainability., • Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred, Human Services Administration, Public Health related field or 10 years of progressive management responsibility in health care related field with experience that demonstrates knowledge of operations in a health services organization industry., • NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) /LMSW/LMHC preferred., • Seminar In Field Instruction (SIFI) preferred, • Must have CASAC credential or obtain within 12-months of hire., • Must have minimum of 3-years clinical work experience in the chemical dependence field., • A minimum of six-years of experience in a supervisory, management and/or leadership role., • Completion of OASAS Clinical Supervision Training, I & II (or obtain within 6 months of hire), • Trained and certified in naloxone delivery to treat opioid overdose, or trained within 7 days, post hire., • Obtain within six months of hire:, • Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT), • Obtain within thirty days of hire:, • Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment, • CASAC Canon of Ethics (6 hours), • Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours), • Mandated reporter (2 hours), • Knowledge of OASAS, OMIG, DOH, Central Registry and other regulatory bodies., • Proficient computer skills including experience using an electronic health record., • Excellent management, engagement, and communication skills.
