Job Description Our client, a nationally renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently hiring an experienced and skilled Chief Physician Assistant (PA) to lead the Vascular Surgery PA team in a procedural-focused role. This leadership position balances hands-on patient care with team management and is ideal for a PA who thrives in procedural medicine, inpatient/outpatient vascular care, and leadership. The Chief PA will work a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule (4/10s) and play a critical role in advancing vascular care within our institution. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management: • Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of vascular surgery PAs, • Oversee PA scheduling, onboarding, training, and professional development, • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, procedural standards, and regulatory guidelines, • Act as a liaison between PAs, vascular surgeons, nursing staff, and administration, • Lead quality improvement initiatives to optimize procedural workflows and patient outcomes Procedural & Clinical Responsibilities (No OR Time) • Perform a variety of vascular procedures, including but not limited to:, • Vein and artery harvesting (for grafting procedures), • Central and arterial line placement, • Ultrasound-guided vascular access (IVs, arterial/venous catheters), • Wound care, debridement, and complex dressing management, • Sclerotherapy and other venous interventions, • Suture/staple removal and drain management, • Conduct patient evaluations, history & physical exams, and follow-up visits, • Manage pre- and post-procedure patient care for vascular patients, • Order and interpret vascular imaging (ultrasound, CT angiography, MRI) and lab results, • Educate patients on vascular conditions, procedural interventions, and lifestyle modifications, • Work closely with vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans, • Participate in inpatient rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings Qualifications • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, • Certified (PA-C) and licensed (or eligible) in [State], • Minimum 4+ years of vascular surgery, interventional radiology, or procedural-based experience preferred, • Previous leadership or chief PA experience strongly preferred, • Expertise in vascular access, wound care, and procedural medicine, • Ability to lead a team, optimize procedural workflows, and improve patient outcomes, • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills Schedule & Benefits • 4-day, 10-hour shifts (4/10s schedule) – Enjoy a better work-life balance!, • No OR responsibilities – Focus on procedural-based vascular care and leadership, • Competitive salary and leadership stipend, • Comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, CME allowance, malpractice coverage), • Professional growth opportunities within a top-tier vascular surgery program If you’re an experienced PA leader looking for a procedural-based vascular role with a 4-day workweek and no OR time, we’d love to hear from you!
