Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency – we’re an engagement agency and we’re working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We’re storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations. About The Opportunity We’re looking for a Vice President, Earned Media Strategy to help lead earned media for one of the world’s most iconic beer brands. And this isn’t your typical media relations job. We need someone who lives at the intersection of sports, entertainment, culture, media and the internet — and knows how to turn what’s happening in those worlds into opportunities for a brand to show up in ways people actually want to talk about. You should be the kind of person who knows the biggest sports story of the weekend, understands why a random TikTok is suddenly everywhere, has opinions on which podcasts actually move culture, knows what reporters are chasing, and can spot the difference between a fleeting trend and a genuine earned opportunity. One day you might be building an earned strategy around a major NFL moment. The next, reacting to something happening in entertainment, working with talent, or figuring out how a brand can credibly jump into a conversation unfolding in real time. This role requires someone who can move at the speed of culture without sacrificing strategic thinking. About You You’re an earned media leader, but you’re also a culture junkie. You genuinely love sports and entertainment. You follow the NFL, NBA, NHL and major sporting moments because you want to — not because they’re on the client calendar. You know the personalities, fandoms, traditions, rivalries and storylines that make sports culture bigger than the games themselves. You’re equally plugged into entertainment, music, celebrity, creators and internet culture. You understand what people are watching, sharing, debating, memeing and obsessing over — and you’re constantly thinking about where brands can credibly enter those conversations. You understand that “media” today is much bigger than traditional press. You have strong relationships with journalists, but you’re just as comfortable thinking about podcasts, newsletters, creators, social-first publishers, Substack, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and whatever platform or personality is becoming influential next. Your group chat probably doubles as cultural research. Most importantly, you know how to translate all of that knowledge into smart, strategic earned ideas that generate attention for brands. You know when a brand should jump in, when it should sit something out and how to turn a cultural observation into a headline-worthy idea. You’re also a confident senior leader who can sell ambitious thinking to clients, inspire teams, build strong media relationships and stay calm when something unexpected happens five minutes before kickoff. Responsibilities • Put the brand at the center of culture. Identify opportunities across sports, entertainment, music, fandom and internet culture where the brand can credibly show up and earn attention., • Lead earned strategy for major brand moments. Develop integrated earned approaches around tentpole sporting events, entertainment moments, partnerships, product launches, activations and cultural happenings., • Operate in real time. Track what’s happening across media and social every day and quickly identify conversations, headlines, trends and moments the brand can capitalize on., • Know sports beyond the schedule. Understand the personalities, traditions, memes, rivalries, fan behaviors and emerging storylines surrounding major sports leagues and events — particularly football and other major U.S. sports., • Stay relentlessly plugged into the media landscape. Know which reporters, creators, podcasts, newsletters, social accounts and emerging platforms are actually shaping conversation., • Build relationships that matter. Maintain strong relationships across national news, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, business, culture and digital media., • Turn insights into headlines. Find the sharp cultural observation, tension or behavior that can become an earned idea — not just another press release., • Think beyond traditional PR. Develop ideas designed to travel across earned media, social, creators, experiential, talent and paid channels., • Work with talent and creators. Help identify the right athletes, entertainers, musicians, celebrities and creators for brand programs and develop earned strategies that make those partnerships newsworthy., • Be a trusted client counselor. Advise senior clients on cultural opportunities, media strategy, brand positioning, talent, risk and real-time decision-making., • Bring strong opinions and great instincts. Develop POVs on where media and culture are headed and what those shifts mean for the brand., • Lead integrated teams. Partner closely with creative, strategy, social, influencer, experiential and account teams to turn cultural insights into breakthrough ideas., • Sell the idea. Confidently present strategies and creative thinking to senior clients, agency partners and new business prospects., • Develop the next generation of earned talent. Mentor teams to become sharper storytellers, stronger media strategists and more culturally curious thinkers. What We’re Looking For • 8+ years of PR, communications or earned media experience, including significant experience leading work for major consumer brands., • A genuine passion for sports, entertainment and culture — this is essential to the role, not a nice-to-have., • Deep knowledge of the sports landscape, particularly major U.S. sports and the fan cultures surrounding them., • A track record of developing earned ideas that have broken through around major cultural moments., • Strong relationships across sports, entertainment, lifestyle, business, culture and national media., • Deep fluency in the modern media ecosystem — from traditional outlets to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, newsletters, Substack, creators and emerging platforms., • An instinct for what will get people talking and the ability to turn that instinct into smart, ownable opportunities for a brand., • Experience working with athletes, celebrities, musicians, creators and other high-profile talent., • Experience leading integrated campaigns across earned, social, creator, experiential and paid channels., • The ability to move quickly. Really quickly. You’re comfortable developing a smart recommendation when the cultural window might be measured in hours, not weeks., • Strong judgment and an understanding of the difference between a culturally relevant opportunity and a brand trying too hard., • Excellent storytelling, writing and presentation skills., • Confidence counseling senior clients and navigating large, complex marketing organizations., • A collaborative leadership style and a track record of building teams that are curious, ambitious and excited to make work people notice. Salary range: 125,000 – 165,000

Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency - we're an engagement agency and we're working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We're storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations. We Are Seeking We’re looking for an Account Director to help lead the business for one of the world’s most iconic brands. This is a role for someone who can quarterback big, integrated work while keeping one foot firmly planted in culture. You’ll lead the day-to-day execution, manage client relationships, bring together teams across earned, social, creative and strategy, and help turn ambitious ideas into programs that get people talking. With work firmly cemented in the world of sports and entertainment, being culturally plugged in isn’t a bonus. It’s part of the job. You should know the sports stories dominating conversation, the entertainment moments taking over social, the memes that suddenly seem to be everywhere and the creators, personalities and platforms shaping what people care about. You should also know how to translate all of that into opportunities for a brand — and then help rally clients, agency partners and internal teams to actually make them happen. What You’ll Do • Help quarterback the business, owning day-to-day client communications and relationships, and keeping agency partners and internal teams aligned, informed and moving toward great work together., • Put the brand in culture. Help identify opportunities across sports, entertainment, music, fandom, media and internet culture where the brand can credibly show up and make an impact., • Be the client’s go-to. Build trusted relationships with day-to-day clients and become the person they call to for updates, a solution to a problem or a gut check on an opportunity., • Execute integrated campaigns, bringing them from idea to reality. Help manage everything from creative development to earned media execution., • Know the business, not just the brief. Understand your clients’ brand, marketing priorities and business challenges well enough to proactively identify where we can add value., • Know fandom. Understand the personalities, traditions, rivalries, rituals, memes and behaviors that make sports bigger than what happens on the field., • Think social-first and earned-forward. Understand what makes an idea travel across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, creators, traditional media and whatever comes next., • Keep the trains running. Manage complex timelines, budgets, scopes, staffing and deliverables while maintaining a high bar for the work., • Grow great teams. Mentor rising talent, give clear direction and feedback, and create an environment where people are excited to bring forward ambitious ideas. You Are You’re an account leader, but you’re also a culture junkie. You genuinely love sports. You follow the biggest games, athletes, personalities, storylines and fan conversations because you want to — not because they're on the client calendar. You’re equally plugged into entertainment and internet culture. You understand what people are watching, sharing, debating and obsessing over — and you’re constantly thinking about whether there’s a smart way for your client to be part of it. You understand the modern media landscape and know that influence can come from ESPN or TikTok, a national newspaper or a niche newsletter, a celebrity or a creator with an extremely passionate following. But being culturally fluent is only half of the equation. You’re also exceptional with clients and excel in managing integrated teams. You can walk into a meeting and immediately set the tone. You’re extremely organized and can seamlessly navigate client and agency questions, pushes or problems. You’re constantly looking beyond the immediate assignment to understand what else the client needs, where the brand could go next and how the agency can help get it there. What We’re Looking For • 7+ years of experience in PR, communications, integrated marketing or related fields, with experience leading major consumer brands., • A genuine passion for sports, entertainment and culture — this is essential to the role, not a nice-to-have., • Strong knowledge of major U.S. sports and, just as importantly, the fan cultures surrounding them., • Proven experience execution large, integrated campaigns., • Experience managing client relationships and becoming a trusted counselor to marketing and communications leaders and partners., • Strong fluency across the modern media ecosystem — earned media, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, creators, newsletters and emerging platforms., • Experience navigating complex Integrated Agency Teams and bringing together multiple agencies, disciplines and stakeholders around a shared vision., • Comfort managing complex budgets, scopes, staffing plans and financials., • Strong judgment and the ability to provide clear client updates and counsel when timelines are tight and information is imperfect., • Sharp writing skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to make complicated things feel simple., • A collaborative leadership style and a track record of working in and growing high-performing teams. Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000.

To Apply: To apply, you must submit an application through The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School website here. The first stage of the process is the application below. In order to be considered, you must submit an application that consists of all four components: 1 - Resume, 2 - Cover letter, 3 - Instructional Video, and 4 - Submission of Teaching and Learning. The requirements for each of the four components are specified in detail below. 1. RESUME: Please submit an up-to-date resume., 2. COVER LETTER: Please submit a well-written cover letter that highlights your specific interest in joining the TEP community., 3. INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO: Please submit an unedited video clip (maximum 15 minutes) of you teaching in a classroom setting (preferred) or a small-group setting. It is preferred that the students be in the same grade-level as the TEP teaching position for which you are applying, though this is not a strict requirement. The video may contain only one continuous, unedited clip (i.e. do not splice together multiple clips from different points in the lesson). The clip does not need to show an entire lesson; a brief lesson segment is perfectly acceptable. If you do not have a video with students in the classroom you may still submit a video of yourself teaching. Get creative! You may include a video of you teaching (a) a lesson with/for no students, (b) a lesson of you teaching family members, (c) or a lesson for students virtually. We’re excited to see your creativity. The video must be accompanied by a written narrative that analyzes and reflects upon the teaching and learning that occurs in the lesson and may offer an explanation as to what occurred prior to and subsequent to the clip. There is no minimum or maximum length for the narrative. The video may be submitted in any format, but a link to a video posted online is preferred. 1. SUBMISSION OF TEACHING AND LEARNING: Submit one of the following three options: Option A: Portfolio of Student Work that demonstrates the progress of at least two specific students that you have taught. The portfolio must contain a minimum of two work products for each student (for a minimum of four work products) completed at different points in time during the period when each student was in your class. The portfolio must be accompanied by a written narrative that analyzes and reflects upon the progress that each student demonstrates. There is no minimum or maximum length for the narrative. Option B: Assessment Data for at least one entire class of students that you have taught. The assessments may be standardized national, state, or city assessments or your own self-created assessments. The assessment data can be provided in any form that you choose (official documents with students’ last names crossed-out, or documents that you create to summarize student assessment performance). The data you provide should ideally show progress over time; as such, it is recommended (though not required) that you provide data for at least two assessments taken at different points in time. The assessment data must be accompanied by a copy of the assessments themselves. If a specific assessment is unavailable, provide a copy of a similar assessment. The assessment data must also be accompanied by a written narrative that provides background on the assessments, explains how the assessments measure student performance, and analyzes the results of your class. There is no minimum or maximum length for the narrative. Option C: Original Curricular Tool of any form that you have personally developed. The requirement here is deliberately open-ended because we are interested in seeing anything that you have developed that you believe has meaningfully supported your students' learning. This may take the form of written materials, a unique instructional methodology, a technological innovation, etc. The curricular tool must also be accompanied by a written narrative that provides background on the tool, how the tool functions, and speaks to the impact of the tool within your classroom. There is no minimum or maximum length for the narrative.
