Job Description St. Anne Institute Job Description I. TITLE: Assistant Director – Health and Wellbeing (Nursing) II. SUPERVISOR: Director – Health and Wellbeing III. HOURS PER WEEK: Full Time (Exempt Position) Flexible Schedule - Evenings and some weekends. IV. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State License as a Registered Nurse (RN): Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Certified in CPR; Previous administrative and supervisory experience. Must be able to walk long distances and climb stairs at various intervals through the day, carrying a tray. V. FUNCTIONS :  In collaboration with the Director Health and Wellbeing oversee all functions of the Medical Clinic and ensure that St. Anne Institute clients receive the highest quality of care twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.  In collaboration with the Director Health and Wellbeing provide a high standard of competent medical supervision and care for youth and staff (as needed).  In collaboration with Director Health and Wellbeing coordinate with other medical/clinical staff to ensure that the St. Anne Institute Medical Clinic’s daily operations function smoothly and efficiently. VI. RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative  Work in tandem with the Director of Health and Wellbeing and the nursing team to ensure safe and adequate nursing coverage; twenty-four hours, seven days a week responsibility for all campus programs.  Manage and participate in the scheduling of all nursing staff, especially the on-call nursing rotation.  Ensure that youth across all programs, including but not limited to the Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP), Crisis Residence, Day Services, Early Childhood Education, Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter, Vocational Day Services, receive emergency and routine nursing care as needed.  Collaborate with Physicians, Psychiatrists and other medical personnel, as necessary, concerning appropriate medical treatment of youth and ensure that all physicians’ orders are processed and documented in all electronic systems timely and accurately.  Coordinate nursing services with other agency departments to ensure that all required nursing assessments and evaluations, including but not limited to Intake Assessments, Comprehensive Treatment Plans, are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures. 2  Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care and Medical Clinic practices on an on-going basis and communicate suggestions for improvements to the Director Health and Wellbeing, Chief Program Officer and the Medical Director.  Ensure the maintenance of appropriate medical records (EHR/Connections/EMAR).  Adhere to the provisions of the Nurse Practice Acts of New York State.  Educate staff and clients/students/residents about nursing procedures and health care issues.  Develop a comprehensive understanding of Medicaid Managed Care.  Assist in the formulation of medical clinic procedures and protocols and coordinate all medical audits with the agency’s Quality Management Team.  Report to the Director Health and Wellbeing, Chief Program Officer, Quality Management, and the Medical Director on clinical/medical/medication issues that may arise.  Attend regularly scheduled nurse meetings and other meetings/committees, as requested.  Assist with the completion of medical consultation forms and medical specialist appointments  Assist with providing biweekly 1:1 supervision to all nursing staff  Assist in the facilitation of quarterly team meetings.  Participate in daily Risk Management Meetings, and Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings/Clinical Rounds.  Provide leadership to the medical team in the absence of the Director Health and Wellbeing. Direct Care  Provide direct/comprehensive medical care of St. Anne Institute residents and general and/or emergency care to all youth across all St. Anne Institute programs/services  Provide nursing care according to physicians’ orders and in conformance with established standards of nursing.  Pour medications and make daily rounds to administer medications.  Provide accurate documentation on all medical matters, including accident reports, prescribed medications and nurse’s notes (paper and electronic).  Administer first aid to all students and staff across agency programs, as necessary. Other  Complete 40 hours of continuing education annually (this can be accomplished through a combination of agency in-services, outside conferences, etc.).  Abide by the provisions of the Nurse Practice Acts, the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and the SAI Codes of Conduct/Ethics 3  Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Program Officer

Job Description St. Anne Institute Job Description • TITLE: Registered Nurse (R.N.) – Medical Services, • SUPERVISOR: Director Health and Wellbeing (Nursing)., • HOURS PER WEEK: 40 Hours Full Time Evenings & Weekends. Please note that the St. Anne Institute operates multiple residential sites that require access to nursing 24x7, so all nursing personnel are assigned to work according to the needs of the St. Anne Institute and the clients entrusted to its care and may be assigned across the agency’s programs. Nursing personnel are expected to remain on site until all required medical/nursing services are completed. Please note that any overtime needs to be approved by the Director and/or Coordinator Medical Services as per agency policy., • QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State license as a Registered Nurse; Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Certified in CPR; and 3 or more years of prior nursing employment experience preferred., • Provide direct/comprehensive medical care of St. Anne Institute residents and general and/or emergency care to all students across all St. Anne Institute programs/services., • Provide nursing care according to physicians’ orders and in conformance with established standards of nursing., • Pour medications and make daily rounds to administer medications., • Administer first aid to all students and staff across agency programs, as necessary., • Work collaboratively with all staff, internal and external, in escorting youth to urgent and/or emergency medical appointments including but not limited to hospitalizations. Administrative • Assist in the formulation of medical clinic procedures and protocols., • Educate staff and clients/students/residents about nursing procedures and health care issues., • Follow universal precautions., • Ensure appropriate use of equipment and supplies., • Report to the Director Medical Services and/or the Coordinator Medical Services on clinical/medical/medication issues that may arise., • Arrive at work 15 minutes prior to start of shift to review report on previous shift.
