Job Description Title: Program Development AmeriCorps Member Location: Bronx, New York Reports to: Executive Director of Development Status: Full-Time Position Summary The Program Development AmeriCorps Member will help strengthen NAICA’s organizational capacity through research, data collection, program evaluation, and systems development. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director of Development, the member will assist in organizing and analyzing program data, preparing reports, and developing tools that enhance NAICA’s ability to measure outcomes and communicate impact. Through this work, the AmeriCorps Member will contribute to NAICA’s long-term goals of improving service delivery, expanding funding readiness, and advancing housing stability for thousands of individuals and families each year. The position offers hands-on experience in nonprofit research, evaluation, and strategic development within one of New York City’s most respected housing and social service organizations. Key Responsibilities • Research and Grants Strategy Support, • Research public and private funding landscapes to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that align with NAICA’s mission and program priorities., • Prepare internal summaries and briefings to keep leadership informed of emerging opportunities and shifts within the sector., • Maintain a centralized tracking system for grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting outcomes., • Gather and organize program data for internal and external reports., • Draft narrative and data summaries for internal use, compliance reports, and organizational communications to document program performance and outcomes. Impact Evaluation and Data Analysis • Collect and organize quantitative data from program teams (e.g., service usage stats, outcome tracking, client surveys) to support internal reporting and evaluation., • Compile and synthesize qualitative information, including staff interviews, focus group feedback, and client success stories to capture program insights and outcomes., • Analyze data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement; and share findings with staff in clear, actionable summaries., • Develop data visualizations (charts, infographics, dashboards) to communicate key performance indicators to leadership, funders, and other stakeholders., • Research best practices and evidence-based models to inform program design or strategy., • Assist in creating or improving data collection tools such as feedback forms, survey instruments, or evaluation templates., • Support the creation of internal learning documents (briefs, presentations, recommendations) to share findings with staff., • Help draft or revise program materials (e.g., outreach brochures, service guides, logic models) to better reflect current goals and outcomes., • Assist NAICA’s strategic planning process, including collecting and analyzing organizational data, gathering stakeholder feedback, drafting planning documents, and supporting implementation tracking., • Identify and map current data sources across NAICA’s housing, legal, and social services programs., • Compile and analyze data to estimate program outcomes and community impact., • Research public benchmarks and metrics related to homelessness prevention, housing stability, and social return on investment (SROI)., • Support the creation of internal summaries and visualizations (charts, infographics) that illustrate NAICA’s social and economic value., • Develop sustainability and transition plans to ensure continuity after AmeriCorps term ends detailing all aspects of the project, including outstanding assignments, main points of contacts, and potential next steps to move the project forward, • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or experience in communications, social sciences, public administration, or a related field is preferred., • Passion for community service and a strong interest in supporting NYC’s most vulnerable populations., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn how to craft compelling messages and reports., • Highly comfortable using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email; ability to quickly learn new digital tools and systems., • Strong database management skills and attention to detail when handling information., • Interest or aptitude in data analysis and using data to inform decision-making, storytelling, evaluation, and reporting., • Ability to create clear and compelling data visualizations (using tools like Excel, Canva, or other image editors) for both qualitative and quantitative data sets preferred., • Strong research and analytical skills to identify trends, funding opportunities, and program needs., • A team player with a positive attitude, reliability, and a desire to grow professionally., • Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and work both independently and collaboratively., • Reliable, responsible, and committed to completing a year of AmeriCorps service., • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes., • This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment., • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks., • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
