Head Legal Counsel / Senior Manager US Position Overview As Joe & the Juice continues its rapid expansion across the United States, we are seeking a senior legal leader to serve as the primary legal partner for the U.S. business. This role will provide strategic and practical legal guidance across a broad range of commercial, operational, employment, real estate, compliance, and corporate matters while helping build the legal infrastructure necessary to support long-term growth. The candidate will be reporting to the CLO, Group General Counsel based in Europe and on a day-to-day have a seat on the US leadership team, partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will play a critical role in balancing legal risk with business objectives, enabling growth, and strengthening governance across the U.S. organization. This position is based at our U.S. Headquarters in New York City and will serve as the lead legal resource supporting all U.S. operations and future expansion initiatives. This role represents an opportunity to build and shape the legal function for a rapidly growing U.S. business. The successful candidate will not only provide day-to-day legal counsel but will also help establish the governance, processes, and legal infrastructure necessary to support significant future expansion. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable sitting at the executive table helping shape business strategy as they are rolling up their sleeves to solve complex legal and operational challenges. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnership • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the U.S. Executive Leadership Team. Partner with senior leaders across Operations, People, Finance, Procurement, Development, Marketing, and Technology to support business objectives. Provide practical, commercially focused legal guidance that enables growth while appropriately managing risk. * Advise strategic initiatives, market expansion, organizational changes, and business transformation efforts. Commercial & Corporate Legal • Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements. Support vendor, supplier, procurement, technology, licensing, marketing, and service agreements. Advise stakeholders on contractual obligations, risk exposure, and negotiation strategy. Support corporate governance, entity management, board-related matters, and internal governance frameworks. Establish scalable contract management and legal review processes. Real Estate & Development • Serve as the legal partner for all U.S. real estate, development, and store growth activities. Lead and support the U.S. legal agenda, partnering closely with the business to align legal priorities with growth plans. Review and negotiate leases, amendments, renewals, landlord disputes, and occupancy-related matters. Partner closely with Development, Operations, and Retail leadership to support the store pipeline, new store openings, and market expansion. Provide legal guidance on real estate transactions, obligations, and risk mitigation strategies. * Support the continued scaling of the U.S. business by helping build the right legal processes, structure, and team support as the market grows. Employment, Labor & Regulatory Compliance • Advise leadership on employment-related legal matters and workplace risk. Partner closely with the People Team and external counsel on employee relations, investigations, claims, and litigation matters. Support policy development, handbook updates, compliance initiatives, and workplace governance. * Monitor and advise on evolving federal, state, and local employment regulations impacting the U.S. business. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance • Develop and strengthen legal, compliance, and governance frameworks across the U.S. organization. Identify emerging legal and business risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies. Create scalable legal processes, controls, and documentation standards to support future growth. Oversee relationships with external counsel and manage legal spend effectively. Support enterprise risk management initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts. Desired Candidate Profile • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Licensed attorney in good standing. 8–12+ years of legal experience. Combination of top law firm and in-house counsel experience strongly preferred. Experience supporting multi-unit retail, hospitality, restaurant, consumer, franchise, or other high-growth organizations preferred. Strong background in commercial contracting, corporate law, and business transactions. Experience supporting real estate, employment, compliance, and operational matters. Proven ability to influence and advise senior executives. Strategic thinker with a practical, solutions-oriented approach. * Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Success Measures • Effective legal support across all U.S. operations and growth initiatives. Timely and strategic review of commercial agreements and business transactions. Reduced legal, regulatory, and compliance risk. Strong governance frameworks and scalable legal processes. Trusted partnership with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Successful support of new market expansion and development initiatives. Establishment of a legal function capable of scaling alongside the continued growth of the U.S. business. As an ILST you will be responsible for the training, supervision of, or assistance to, an individual with self-care including: medication management, task completion, communication & interpersonal skills, socialization, sensory & motor skills, mobility, community transportation skills, problem solving, money management, ability to maintain a household. QUALIFICATIONS: Persons employed as an Independent Living Skills and Training provider must be a/an: 1. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 2. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 3. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Social Work degree;, 4. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Psychology degree;, 5. Licensed Physical Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 6. Registered Professional Nurse (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 7. Certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities (certified by the NYS Education Department);, 8. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (certified as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification);, 9. Licensed Speech Pathologist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); or, 10. Licensed Occupational Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); AND Must have, at a minimum, one (1) year of experience completing assessments of ADLs/IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing comprehensive service plans and teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent. Any provider currently providing ILST services approved pursuant to the qualifications in the waiver prior to the most recent approval is approved to provide services under the new application. New employees/providers are required to meet the new qualifications. The grandfathering of current providers sunsets when the staff person terminates employment with the current employer. Additional Requirements: Acceptable verification of credentials related to qualifications.     Vision Therapy Assistant / Administrative Assistant (Park Slope / Gowanus) 20-25 hours per week - Brooklyn Vision Therapy is a niche optometry practice specializing in vision therapy and rehabilitation seeking a new vision therapy assistant. As a vision therapy assistant, you will work one-to-one with patients, coaching and motivating them through exercises and games that will strengthen their visual skills. Vision therapy is an incredible way to change lives for the better - helping patients overcome visual problems that are impacting their ability to perform well in school, work, or life. There is room to grow and complete training to become a certified vision therapist over the next 1-3 years. Primary duties will eventually include working 1:1 with patients of all ages, but particularly kids aged 4-12, as well as assisting with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks in a fast-paced but fun practice. Training will be provided, but we are ideally seeking someone with a background in optometry, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or early education, who has experience working with children and experience working as a receptionist or in an administrative, or operational role. Candidates should be highly organized, have strong time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills along with excellent people skills. You should also have the ability to quickly learn basic science/vision concepts and specific exercises. Approximate Schedule is 1-7pm Monday - Thursday Compensation: $20 - $28 / hour starting pay (commensurate with experience) with an increase once able to work independently with patients + revenue/performance based bonuses after the first year
