Job Description Title: Immigration Services Community Navigator Location: Bronx, New York Pay Range: $21.97 - $23.35 per hour (effectively $40,000 - $42,500 per year) FLSA Classification/Status: Full-time (35 hours/week), Non-exempt Role Summary: The Community Navigator will serve as a frontline advocate and support provider for immigrant New Yorkers accessing services through NAICA’s MOIA Legal Support Center. This role involves conducting outreach, facilitating intake, assisting clients in navigating legal and social services, and ensuring culturally and linguistically appropriate support. The Community Navigator will work closely with attorneys, DOJ-accredited representatives, and community partners to provide holistic, client-centered services. Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties: • Conduct outreach in immigrant communities to raise awareness of available legal and social services., • Assist clients with intake, documentation gathering, and appointment scheduling., • Provide navigation support for legal services, housing assistance, employment programs, and public benefits., • Maintain accurate records in the case management system and support data collection for reporting., • Collaborate with legal staff to ensure clients understand their rights and available legal remedies., • Refer clients to appropriate community-based organizations for non-legal services such as healthcare, mental health, and food assistance., • Participate in community workshops, Know Your Rights presentations, and public information campaigns., • Ensure all services are delivered in the client’s preferred language, using in-house multilingual staff or contracted interpretation services., • Support clients throughout their legal case lifecycle, including follow-up and coordination with service providers. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks., • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds., • High School Diploma or equivalent is required., • College degree or relevant certification (preferred)., • Minimum of one (1) year experience in community outreach, case management, or immigrant advocacy (paid or volunteer)., • Familiarity with NYC immigrant communities and social service systems., • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management platforms preferred., • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes., • Fluency in Spanish, French, Creole, or other languages commonly spoken by immigrant communities is strongly preferred., • Must pass drug screening to be appointed., • This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment.
