Job Description Senior Electrical Designer- DER and Microgrid Design Why This Role Matters: As a member of the BSE Team, the Senior Electrical Designer works with the design team to plan, design, and oversee the installation of building systems on a variety of project types. In this role, you will design building systems for projects across our practice areas, improving the built environment, and creating a more sustainable world in the process. As a member of the BSE team, you have developed a deep expertise in a building systems specialty and have experience in design coordination as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The Senior BSE Designer works independently on moderately to highly complex projects. What You’ll Do: • Perform Codes and Standards review. Discuss interpretation with Engineer of Record (EOR), if required, • Perform Revit drafting and comply with company standards, • Lead project design efforts and communicate with EOR, • Perform site investigations and document existing conditions, • Oversee the development of Revit drawings – plans, details, schematics, and schedules, • Attend internal coordination meetings and communicate with other disciplines, • Attend client meetings and participate in project scope development, • Communicate engineering concepts clearly with clients, • Prepare engineering reports and opinions of probable construction costs, • Perform building condition evaluations and prepare reports, • Produces designs that have minimal QA/QC comments and minimal drawing presentation mistakes, • Prepare specifications, • Ability to design within a construction budget, • Review and approve submittals and shop drawings, • Perform construction punch lists, • Attend construction meetings, • Assist CPL senior leadership with proposal efforts as required, • AS Degree required, professional degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience, • Ability to perform difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data, • Ability to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines, • Familiarity with building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems, and structural components, • Working knowledge of Revit and other relevant design programs, • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools, • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, • Engineering, analytical, and technical writing skills with attention to detail, • An understanding of construction plans/specifications, • Healthcare for you and your family: Medical, Dental& Vision insurance.
