Job Description We are looking for an experienced Handyman for our Brooklyn property. The ideal candidates should possess a working knowledge of building systems and apartment building facilities management. Duties include but are not limited to: • Report to Facilities Manager, • Day-to-day maintenance operations, completion of work orders and tracking work orders in management software, • Report to various locations in the scatter-site portfolio to complete light plumbing, electric and carpentry work in apartment units and building common areas, • Communicate goals to porter staff in a coordinated effort to maintain the buildings, • Executing emergency repairs in a small subset of assigned buildings, • Inspect units for damages upon move out or upon completion of work, or to ensure that all apartments are kept up to NYC’s HQS guideline, • Report to the Superintendent, • Arrange access to building, back of house building areas, and to apartment units for City and State Inspectors, Contractors and Management, • 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, • Intermediate knowledge of plumbing, steam heating systems, light electrical work, and carpentry, • Basic experience or familiarity with various different building system components, such as elevators, sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, sewer lines, • OSHA 30 certified preferable Company DescriptionWe are an expanding Real Estate Property Management and Affordable Housing Developer; we have provided support to the New York region for over 40 years.We are an expanding Real Estate Property Management and Affordable Housing Developer; we have provided support to the New York region for over 40 years.
