The Catering Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving catering revenue, supporting the broader sales strategy, and executing events that showcase the beauty and versatility of our historic property-while embodying Meyer Jabara Hotels' values of empowerment, accountability, and excellence. Position Overview The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating, managing, and executing catering and social event business, with a primary focus on weddings, social celebrations, corporate meetings, and special events. This position drives revenue through proactive sales efforts, relationship development, and exceptional client service while supporting the strategic goals set by the Director of Sales and General Manager. The Catering Sales Manager plays a vital role in ensuring each event reflects the luxury experience of The Abbey Inn & Spa and upholds the service standards and culture of Meyer Jabara Hotels. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development • Conduct proactive and reactive catering sales efforts to maximize event revenue., • Manage incoming catering leads, inquiries, and referrals with timely follow-up., • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, planners, vendors, and community partners., • Attend networking events, bridal showcases, site tours, and promotional events as needed., • Achieve or exceed established catering sales and revenue goals., • Support overall sales strategies as directed by the Director of Sales and General Manager. Client Relations & Account Management • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned catering clients from initial inquiry through event execution., • Conduct professional and engaging site visits highlighting event spaces, menus, and guest experiences., • Prepare customized proposals, menus, and contracts in an accurate and timely manner., • Guide clients through menu planning, bar selections, floor plans, and event enhancements., • Maintain detailed client records and ensure clear, consistent communication throughout the sales cycle. Event Planning Support & Execution • Collaborate with the Director of Sales, Director of Catering, General Manager, and operational teams to plan and execute successful events., • Create, distribute, and manage accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event timelines., • Coordinate logistics including room setups, audiovisual needs, menus, décor, and special requests., • Serve as on-site event lead or support during events, ensuring smooth execution and guest satisfaction., • Address and resolve service challenges promptly and professionally to ensure a seamless guest experience. Team Collaboration & Communication • Work closely with Catering, Banquets, Culinary, Rooms, and Food & Beverage teams., • Clearly communicate all event details to internal teams to ensure flawless execution., • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives., • Uphold Meyer Jabara Hotels' culture of empowerment, accountability, and service excellence., • Represent The Abbey Inn & Spa with professionalism and brand integrity at all times.Qualifications, • 2-4 years of catering sales, hotel sales, or event sales experience preferred., • Experience selling weddings, social events, and corporate catering strongly preferred., • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills., • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail., • Ability to manage multiple events, clients, and deadlines simultaneously., • Proficiency with sales and catering software (Delphi or similar preferred)., • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event business.Benefits:, • Group Medical Plan, • Dental Plan, • 401(k) Plan, • Incentive Bonus Plan based on catering sales performance and achievement of revenue goals, • Voluntary Benefits, including:, • Life Insurance, • Critical Illness Insurance, • Accident Insurance Background screening required.
